Just heard a liberal political pundit make a case about sanctuary cities stating that it helps to get illegals to report crimes and provide eyewitness testimony. The problem with this mindset is that the greatest issue police officers have in solving crimes in African American communities is that no one talks. They're legal citizens of the United States and they're afraid to work with the police. What would make these Hispanic communities any different? Not talking is a cultural issue in certain minority communities.

The safest thing to do for the citizens of these sanctuary cities would be for the police to notify ICE if any illegal immigrant is guilty of committing a crime (i.e. DWI’s, petty crimes, traffic violations, murder, rape, etc.). Why in the world wouldn’t getting these criminals out of their neighborhoods not make them safer?

I know they’re not completely innocent if they’re here illegally but when some of them get hurt because of other illegals who further break our laws, then I believe we have a moral obligation to protect them too. The police shouldn’t have to worry about getting people from these communities to talk. If someone breaks the law and is an illegal immigrant, there’s no need for our court system to get involved; ICE should be contacted and the person(s), should be removed from our country. This protects the communities they’re from and those who are here legally.

What I'd love to know is how many of these people who are breaking our laws, can speak English. The bottom line is if any of us moved to another country like Italy, France, or Greece, we would be expected to learn their language before becoming a legal citizen. I believe that if someone doesn’t have any form of identification and can’t speak English, then he or she should be removed from our country. This is certainly how we’d be treated in other countries.

Book of Proverbs

Thousands of years ago the Book of Proverbs was written and it's one of my favorite books to read in the Bible; the wisdom is amazing and still applicable to this day. One of the things it addresses is if you're going to play with fire you're going to get burned. How burnt depends on how long you hold the fire close to you and how intense is the flame.

I sincerely doubt that any of the people involved in these sex scandals didn't know they were playing with fire and as we've seen, many have been burned with more to come. The fact is, for most people there's an inner voice that lets us know we're leaning the wrong direction. We get a little mental heads-up when we're about to do the wrong thing.

Some people call this our conscience, some believers like me, think it's the Holy Spirit guiding us to do the right thing. The bottom line is we feel the heat coming our way and we have a chance to run from it. Another good lesson from the Bible when encountering things that aren’t good for you is to not just walk away, run away and don’t look back!

Regardless of whether someone gets caught for doing a dirty deed and they get embarrassingly burned in their world of co-workers, family, friends, etc., they’ll still feel the pain as they often end up burning up on the inside and those flames are the hardest to put out.

If you want pretty much all the answers to making good choices in your life so you can avoid unnecessary pain, go to Amazon and buy a book which covers the book of Proverbs from the Bible; I promise you, you'll be glad you did. By the way, even an atheist would love the insight in there.

Luntz Global

Great news for the everyday voters. A large non-partisan poll was conducted by Luntz Global, and two major points were made. One, even some Democrats have gotten tired of their Party constantly saying Republicans are just out for the rich because they don't believe it. They don't understand why Republicans would care about such a small voter base.

They think their Party is misleading them about the middle-class not getting good tax breaks from the Republican tax bill. Wow, common sense. Two, Democrats were very high on cutting corporate taxes, so the U.S. can be more competitive globally.

Why are the leaders of the Democrat Part so out of touch with their own people? Most of them didn’t want Hillary to play identity politics and turn off potential voters but she did it anyway and lost. Leaders of the Democrat Party had better start moving towards the middle, at least somewhat, or their Party is going to be in horrendous trouble in the next election cycle.

Bernie Got Spanked

Bernie just got it handed to him in a CNN debate regarding the new tax bill that passed. His idea of going after the 1% was completely shot down as Ted Cruz provided statistics that showed even if all these people had all their wealth taken from them, not just the tax revenues they’ve been paying, that it would only pay for around 8% of what liberals like Bernie and Hillary were saying about spending tax revenues for more entitlements.

Have you noticed that liberals constantly go after the top 1% when talking about tax reform but never provide facts about it? Wouldn’t it be nice knowing exactly how much tax revenue going after the top 1% would bring? Trying to get Democrats or even the mainstream media to commit to who falls into the 1% or how much additional tax revenue it would provide, is like pulling teeth. The fact is their true goal is to pitch one economic group against another for political points and not truly solve our problems of meeting our budget needs and paying down our debt.

Then there was the question about how poor people from other countries increase wages and increase the number of jobs in our country? Liberals always fumble all over this question. Have you ever heard a legitimate answer to this question? There’s no answer that supports their narrative.

The bottom line is it was a terrible day for Bernie as both Senator Ted Cruz and Tim Scott wore his socialist mentality out and I loved every minute of it.

A Stitch

Opening a Can of Worms

I watched a segment of a Senate hearing a little while ago and if I were the Democrats I'd be really worried as the previous Hillary email investigation is getting very close scrutiny and it's not looking good.

I heard an Inspector General state that two employees in I.T. went to the head of the I.T. Department stating that according to the Federal Records Act that Secretary of State Clinton should not have her own email server because it would be illegal. The I.T. Director told them that it was cleared through legal (which the I.G. said they found out wasn't true), and that they weren’t to bring up the topic again.

The I.T. Director then pleaded the 5th and wouldn't explain his comment about it going through legal. Then the I.G. wanted to talk to Hillary who refused to talk to them. Of course, we know what happened after this and that is Hillary would only speak in her home, without being under oath, and without any recording devices. She controlled the investigation not the FBI. The FBI blew it. I can't say they did so on purpose, but they let a guilty person go free.

Hillary was guilty why else would everyone in her camp associated with the email server plead the 5th even after they were given immunity? Let this sink in. They wouldn't testify even if they wouldn't get in trouble.

Democrats were in such a hurry to go after Trump that they didn't consider it might open Pandora's Box. Whoops! Maybe if Trump is guilty of any crimes he and Hillary can do hard time together. My guess is after a few days Trump would be begging for the needle.

We Hope You Fail

Democrats are hoping the new tax plan will fail, that the stock market will crash, the economy will go south, job growth stagnates, etc., and because of these desires they will work against anything that might help the above conditions. This isn't just a Democrat thing as both parties have gotten to the point where they hope the other party fails miserably so they can get back in power.

Putting this into perspective, at any point in time, at least half the members of the Legislative Branch want our country to fail. Does this make anyone else nervous?

Sailing in the 1700's

In the 1700's, it would generally take anywhere from six to 12 weeks for a ship to cross the Atlantic with merchandise and supplies, now it takes about one week depending on the type of boat/ship. The reason for the stark difference in travel times is that ships back then had to sail and were dependent upon ocean currents and winds.

They didn't have a GPS navigation system, so they had to use planets and stars to get an idea of where they were and what direction to go. If there was cloud coverage for an extended period, where they couldn't reference the stars, they could just as likely end up in Charleston, SC than their destination port of Boston.

Could you imagine trying to figure out the necessary food and water for the crew considering the tremendous variance in how long it took to cross the Atlantic? It's not like you'd want to be better safe than sorry to a large degree because any space taken up to provide for the crew, meant less merchandise/supplies to sell the colonies and vice-versa as far as our exports to Europe.

I can’t imagine how challenging it was to live during that period of our history. I admit I’m a spoiled and grateful 20th Century kid.

Congratulations, You Can Pay More Taxes!

Please pass the word that for any Democrats who want to protest getting tax breaks that all they need to do is send in as much as they want to the Treasury Department and they will accept it. I checked and if a taxpayer takes care of their minimum payment the IRS will gladly accept as much money as anyone wants to contribute towards our budget and debt.

I find it disturbing that so many liberals are crying about not getting to deduct as much of their state taxes as they could before. Why in the world are they trying to get out of paying taxes? They're the ones who want to pay even more taxes to pay for more entitlement spending. They shouldn’t ask for more taxes to pay for more stuff then at the same time look for loop holes to get out of paying them. Kind hearted liberals should try to send in every dollar they can to the Federal government to help those in need.
