The size of their nests is mind-blowing as they’re around 13 feet deep, 8 feet wide, and weigh around 2,000 pounds. Think about how many trips an eagle must make to build its nest; it’s amazing. Their wingspan is eight feet and they fly up to 40 miles per hour; they dive at their prey at 100 miles per hour. Their eyesight is keen and they can spot their next meal from up to three miles away.
Bald Eagles became endangered decades ago and were finally taken off the endangered species list in 2007. I’m so glad they made their way back because it’s difficult to find a bird that is so awe inspiring.
As a side note the Bible mentions eagles around 24 times to describe majestic things. There’s a Christian singing group called The Imperials who sang a song years ago called: “Eagle Song” which you can find on You Tube. It has some of the most amazing harmonies I’ve ever heard; plus if you listen to the lyrics, they’re beautiful. Please check it out.
