You can't be brave if you're not first, afraid. Here's to all those brave men and women who took a step forward and faced their fears. It is why we are where we are. Sadly, we only know a fraction of their names and life stories; most of us don't even know the battles they've fought . The great news is that God knows and someday he'll say: Well done my good and faithful servant, because there's no greater love than to lay down one's life for another.
In 1799, the American sailing vessel Nancy was seized by the British and taken into Port Royal, Jamaica, under suspicion of carrying contraband. Before the Nancy was boarded, her captain had the crew throw the forbidden freight and the ship’s cargo papers into the sea.
At the trial, the captain and officers were about to be acquitted for lack of evidence when the captain of another ship walked into court with the Nancy’s original cargo papers. His men discovered them in the stomach of a shark they harpooned. Consequently, the defendants were convicted. Today, these remarkable documents, called: The Shark’s Papers, are on exhibit in Kingston, Jamaica. For three years, Democrats, and the mainstream media, have been running from one issue to the next trying to make everyone think Trump is done. They were giddy each time acting like they've gotten their hands on the mother lode.
They remind me of bank robbers who think they're taking off with the loot and when they open the bags, dye packs are released and not only is the money not legitimate, but the evidence of their robbery is all over them. Yes, Democrats are the Dye Pack Party. Our federal government is already out of control. They're in massive debt and Democrats want to add to the number of government agencies we have now so that they can manage programs like college education and healthcare. They want to ensure that all women are being paid the same as men which would take auditing millions of businesses each year; this is one of the most outrageous ideas they've ever come up with. Could you imagine how many federal employees would need to be added?
The problem with government becoming so large, as we've seen throughout history, is that it can't sustain. It demands more and more of people, not just the rich, everyone. It becomes a lion that cares nothing about the opinions of the sheep. Democrats want a larger government, when has that ever had a good outcome? Someone once told me that when it comes to parenting, doing nothing at times is the hardest but best thing to do.
Egyptian hieroglyphics indicate that pigeons began to be used to carry messages approximately 5,000 years ago.
I know that where a person is buried is extremely important to some people as it can be of solace to visit a loved one's grave and talk to him or her. Some people are cremated and their ashes are scattered in places that were of significance to them. When Maggie and I would hang out on the beach on Kiawah Island, we'd remember our parents whose ashes were placed in the ocean.
The thing is, to those who have died, it doesn't matter where they're laid to rest or how they were laid to rest. In other words, if they did have funeral wishes, they'd have no idea as to whether their instructions were carried out and quite frankly at that point, they certainly wouldn't care. When they're no longer here physically they do live in our minds and they live in spirit. Their legacies exist as long as the memories of them exist. This is why it's so important to share family stories, even write some down, so other generations can know about their ancestors. The moment the memories are forgotten, the legacy is forgotten. No doubt the ripple affect in how we live our lives will continue to roll on with most people not even knowing why they are where they are. They won't know all it took to get them to where they are now, like us, they'll mostly take it for granted. So the fact is, even when we no longer exist in memory, the impact of our existence lives on whether good or bad. Anyhow, we're only here a short while and what we do does matter now and after we're gone. Part of our existence generally fades after a couple of generations, that's just the way it is, but the fact is our lives on earth will continue to have a ripple affect pretty much throughout the ages; once gain, whether it's a good influence or a bad. I think that every day we should remember this important fact. We do matter. What we do and say does matter. The impact of how we live our lives will continue long after we're gone. Make it a good one. Carpe Diem! Brandon Lee was eight years old when his father, the famous Bruce Lee, died from what is still today a mystery; possibly a brain aneurism. He died suddenly, at the age of 32, just six days before the premier of one of the most famous martial arts films ever: "Enter The Dragon."
Brandon wanted to be like his father so he enhanced his martial arts skills and took acting lessons. It was when he was 28 years old that he starred in a movie that became a cult classic called: "The Crow." During filming he was accidentally shot by a live bullet (the prop gun had a real bullet in it), and died at the hospital from internal bleeding. With only eight days left of production, unfinished scenes that were to feature Brandon were dealt with by rewriting the script, using a stunt double, and digital special effects. He had a fiancé at the time of his death. Just a reminder that the U.S. has attempted to influence various elections and dictator shifts for decades (i.e. Cuba, Grenada, Panama, Russia, Venezuela, etc.). President Obama had a covert operation to get Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu out of office. Of course computers weren't used for many of these foreign political operations because computers weren't around. Now we do have hackers that work for the federal government. We have spies in many countries. Our country conducts spy swaps many times throughout the year with places like China and Russia; they just don't want U.S. citizens to know.
Isn't it interesting that U.S. politicians make it appear that other countries are evil in their attempts to influence the outcome of our elections when they're guilty of it themselves. Not the first time that they climb up on their high horses and attempt to make themselves appear to have the moral authority when their personal character is the worst thing we should ever want to emulate. There are approximately 326 American Indian Reservations in the U.S. with the largest (16 million acres), being the Navajo Nation that is in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. There are around 275,000 Navajo's still in existence.
