I've mentioned before that I can pretty much find great music from all genres, so my Play List is loaded with unusual mixes. Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981. I was in the Navy then, and if I were to guess, Crue was the most played band in the barracks. They've sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have also achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles.
Anyhow, some of their songs are among my favorites. They weren't the Beach Boys, as these guys had a reputation for partying, and when they toured with Ozzy Osbourne, not only were police departments warned to look out for them when they arrived in town for a concert, but the churches were usually already on high alert for their arrival and devilish behavior. Smart kids knew to get rid of their Crue album covers and place the vinyl in a different album sleeve so that their parents weren't aware of what they were listening to. :)
Congrats Motley Crue, after 40 years you still have a touring schedule. Wow!
