The liberal media and some of the Democrat leadership are trashing Trump for pushing other countries to pay their fair share of NATO and United Nations' expenses and for Trump saying we should question our involvement with these organizations if they don't. They're concerned about stepping on these other countries' toes and that we'll alienate them.
We make up around 1% of the member countries to the United Nations yet we cover around 22% of the budget. When the United Nations takes on a military assignment we pay around 30% of the expenses. We have been dramatically taken advantage of and Trump isn't going to allow it anymore. We need to step on other countries' toes like Germany, and ask them to step up and pay their assigned (there's a formula used), fair share.
