Washington, D.C. is considering lowering the voting age to 16. Young, naïve people vote Democrat, so we know why they're pushing for this.
I'm shocked but some Democrats including some long-term leadership, say if they win the House and Senate they'll roll back Trump's tax cuts. I beg of them to please make this part of their platform because it will definitely backfire. Why in the world do they think telling people they'll raise their taxes back, is a good strategy for winning elections?
On a positive note, there's no way they'll win the number of seats necessary to overturn a veto by Trump so if they do try to roll back the tax cuts, Trump will be there to slap it down. Let me put this mildly, Dems are crazy...especially Pelosi and Schumer! It was a wintry day in Japan when Professor Ueno brought home a three-month-old Akita puppy named Hachiko. Every morning Hachiko would follow the professor to the train station, and every afternoon, just before 3:00, he would return to eagerly greet his master as he returned from work.
Hachiko was only a year-and-a-half old when, one afternoon, he did not see his master among the passengers leaving the train. Professor Ueno had suffered a fatal cerebral hemorrhage that day while giving a lecture. Disappointed, Hachiko returned again the next day, precisely at the time he had come to expect his master’s return. Day after day, for nine years, the poor dog faithfully returned to the train station around 3:00, watching for his beloved master. Time would not erode Hachiko’s loyalty and hope that he would again see his master’s face. This reminds me of Christians as we wait in joyful hope for the return of Jesus. It reminds me of the hope we have that when we die, we'll get to see our master's face and jump excitedly into his arms. It is this hope that keeps me going through the trials and tribulations. It is this hope that makes my life more joyful because I know I'm just passing through on to a much better place where I will finally see my master's face. FBI Director Robert Mueller named Chris Swecker to be Assistant Director (AD) for the Criminal Investigative Division (CID). Swecker just wrote a scathing op-ed about James Comey in the Washington Post. In it he said that Comey turned the FBI into a political organization that clearly supported Hillary Clinton.
Swecker stated that everyone was shocked at the way Comey threw out FBI protocol in the handling of her case including not raiding her residence for the server. Of course, Hillary's I.T. person deleted 30,000 emails before the FBI even got their hands on it when the Hillary camp finally turned it over months into the investigation. Not only servers, but as we know phones were destroyed as well. He stated that not putting Hillary under oath was shocking. He stated that Comey writing a memo which exonerated Clinton BEFORE interviewing her or key associates involved, was unprecedented. Swecker stated that he wrote the op-ed because he and other FBI personnel are embarrassed by Comey's leadership and he wants everyone to know that the FBI is supposed to treat everyone the same; that protocols have been in place for a hundred years and they're still applicable to remaining free of politics. The bottom line is he's so angry at Comey and his book tour because it reflects negatively on all the dedicated employees of the FBI who still believe in integrity. Former FBI Director Comey's book tour is embarrassing to him especially since he's billing it as the "Truth" tour. Let's review:
1) Democrats and Republicans both wanted his head over horrendous moves his department made. The only reason Democrats are supporting him now is because he's saying negative things about Trump. 2) He exonerated Hillary months before he interviewed key aides and Hillary herself. Then when he did get around to interviewing her they threw away FBI protocol and interviewed her at home and not under oath. 3) They continuously gave immunity to key Hillary people without getting anything in return. The only reason the FBI offers immunity is for quid pro quo (you give me this, I’ll give you that), situations, so they threw this protocol out the window as well. 4) He and Obama knew about the Russian meddling and didn't say anything because they thought Hillary would win the election, so they didn't want to stir anything up. Any complaints about how Trump is handling Russia is ridiculous since Obama (as usual), did absolutely nothing to address what Russia did now Trump’s stuck cleaning it up. Let me remind you that Obama actually lied a few weeks before the election stating there was no Russian interference when he knew there was. 5) Comey lied under oath to the intelligence committee when he said he never leaked information about the investigation. He gave confidential information to a friend who in turn, gave it to the New York Times. Someone in the private sector who lies under oath is held accountable, people in the public sector are not. The bottom line is Comey is one of the worst FBI Directors we've ever had. He hurt both political parties with the moves he made. I ask you to listen to some of his interviews and notice how many times he speculates versus having hard facts. He speculated how Trump felt about the meddling. It's just another indicator that he didn't live by FBI protocol but instead let political bias blind him from the truth. China ruled the seas in the 14th and 15th centuries (they invented the compass). Their Admiral Zheng, led a series of naval expeditions to ports all over the Indian Ocean.
Zheng had diplomatic, scientific, and commercial goals while traveling farther than any other admiral in history. He visited more than 35 countries, utilizing more than 100 ships and nearly 28,000 men in his Grand Fleet. The largest vessels were 444-foot treasure ships. Could you imagine seeing a ship that was over a football field long?! Today, China is back to their old ways as their ships are larger and faster than any other countries including our own (we are catching up). It wasn't military reasons as to why China got back in the game as they needed the largest and fastest ships possible to get their products to places like the U.S. They are scary smart. The Bush family required that their children volunteer their time to a charity of their choice. This is one of the reasons why the Bush legacy is so strong. Not that their children are perfect, but they always seemed to come along during their adult years to be outstanding citizens.
As God said, bring up your children in the right ways and when they stray they will eventually make their way back. Amen! I can't keep up with what's politically correct these days. I never thought of opening doors for women or pulling out their chair to be an indicator that I don't think they can do it on their own, it was just to honor them with a small sign of appreciation.
Is it okay for a man to open doors for a woman now or is it for some strange reason demeaning? The current Women’s Rights Movement has me total confused. Fifty years ago, a carton of cigarettes cost around $3.50 now they average around $60.00. The costs of tobacco rose at realistic rates, but the taxes skyrocketed.
I sincerely doubt if they use the money solely for addressing the costs of health problems associated with the use of tobacco. Just like states only use a fraction of the “Education Lottery” on education; they just want more money to fund their bloated budgets. If paying hookers and porn stars with private money warrants an FBI raid, then what does members of Congress paying off sexual harassment charges with taxpayer money warrant? The double-standards in Washington are horrendous.
