November Topics

11/1/2017

I don’t know how it was where you live but I couldn’t have asked for a better October weather wise. I could take 55 degree nights and 75 degree days, year around.

I'm confident this month's post will blow you away. I call out the media many times by exploiting their double standards in covering issues related to the Democrat Party compared to the Republican Party. Keep in mind, I'm not a hard-core conservative, I just hate double standards. Treat both parties fairly and I'm just fine as there's plenty of corruption by both parties to go around.

As usual, I have a lot of non-political posts that I hope you find entertaining such as why did God give us free will? Do you know the first song ever recorded? Do you know the oldest documents ever found and the crazy thing they found in them? I wrote about the amazing Jim Thorpe and the Apostle Paul. Anyhow, hopefully it's enough to offset the seriousness of the economic and political posts.

Take care and once again I hope you have an awesome month!

Income Inequality

11/1/2017

I get so sick of hearing about "income and wealth inequality" from liberals. See if you can get one to tell you just how much in taxes the "rich" should pay to make it fair...I've not had one come up with a figure especially considering a small percentage of people are actually paying to run our country so an argument could be made that they are paying more than their fair share. I hope this scenario helps you negate any crazy talk by Democrats:

Let's say for ease of calculations, that 100 people had income equality because they all had $10. Now let's say that one person out of the group came up with a great idea for a cell phone (like Steve Jobs did), and half the group was willing to spend $3 on it and the rest decided to save their money and not buy the fancy new phone. Think about what just happened. Now 49 people have $10, 50 people now have $7 (plus a new phone), and the entrepreneur who came up with the idea of a new cell phone now has $160 (the 50 who bought his phone plus his original $10). Enter what Democrats call income and wealth inequality.

Should the entrepreneur be punished for being rich? He didn't force the people to buy his product. Should the people who decided the product wasn't worth them giving up $3 be punished for being more frugal? Which is exactly what happens with many benefit programs that people pay into and will happen even more in the future. The government won't care about what you paid in, they'll just care about how much money you have. Being responsible with your money will end up being a bad strategic move which means capitalism, the very thing that made our country successful, will go away.

The bottom line is liberals want to decide what's fair and exactly how will they determine the "have's" and the "have not's?" If you have a household income of $50,000 then you're a "have" to millions of people down the economic spectrum. Their arguments regarding income disparity not only doesn't make common sense but it is at its core, immoral. It's so easy giving away other peoples' money. It's easy to get more votes when you promise to take money from the minority who don't have the votes to protect themselves.

I'm a Republican out of necessity not out of desire. I'll fight for the core values of our country until the day I die because I owe it to the young people who are coming up behind me. Income disparity is a false and divisive narrative that I'll gladly debate anyone about.

Some people live life in the box. Some like to live outside of the box. This is a great quote by Billy Ray Cyrus: “Live life like there is no box.”

Extreme Double Standards

11/1/2017

Democrats and the mainstream media are ripping in to Trump for politicizing the recent deaths of eight people in New York City. Wow! There hasn’t been a single time when a mass killing has taken place where Democrats didn’t jump on gun control even on the day of the murders.

Let me give you the headline of the liberal media and main talking points of CNN and MSNBC if it were Republican Mitch McConnell involved in the immigration lottery legislation versus Senator Chuck Schumer: “Senator McConnell is a major factor in the deaths of eight New Yorkers.” There’s no doubt in my mind this is the direction they’d go.

Senator Schumer and other Democrats messed up in allowing an immigration lottery policy geared towards creating Diversity Visas in our country (which we don’t need more diversity), by bringing in people from Muslim countries. It was a lottery, not an earned, thoroughly vetted, immigration policy.

Add to this madness, which if you only watch the liberal media you probably don't know about, but once this dangerous immigrant arrived in our country, he used other liberal immigration policies to bring in 23 of his relatives. I hope this infuriates you as much as it does me. I truly don't understand the Left's desire to bring in more diversity especially when they're coming from countries who are known to harbor terrorists. It completely goes against our Constitutional rights to be protected from such dangers. Sadly, there are now eight innocent people who no longer fall under the Constitution's protection.

This is why the mayor of New York City and the governor of New York (both Democrats), are trashing Trump to get everyone’s attention on him and not the real problem which is the terrible immigration policies Democrats have created. Politicians on both side of the aisle are so unethical. They lack integrity yet are our representatives. There’s something very wrong with this. I’m tired of hearing “It’s just politics as usual.” I think it’s time to expect more before it’s too late.

Motto

I know some people have the motto to live for today but it might not be a good idea especially since it's the same philosophy children live by. Just saying.

The New York Times Got it Right

11/1/2017

I get on the New York Times a lot because of their biased political articles but the fact is they know their audience and their reader base is comprised of mostly Democrats. But just when I tell myself I'll no longer follow them they come up with great, well researched articles. This may shock you but they came up with this following article in 2015 titled: "Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal."

All hell is going to break loose now over this scandal because someone has come forward who was under a Gag Order by the DOJ and is willing to share what happened with the uranium deal and risk the legal consequences. The Clintons will not end up unscathed this time because their political clout is gone. People have protected them so many times over the years because there was something in it for them for riding the Clinton gravy train but now it's been decommissioned.

Since you will no doubt get liberal spin from the mainstream media I want you to keep in mind the following truths:

1) Why would other countries give the Clinton Foundation over $250 million dollars when there are countless organizations helping children around the world including in the very countries who donated money to them? Let's face it, there's only one realistic answer and it's not good.

2) Hillary said the "Uranium One" deal was vetted by nine government agencies but failed to mention a couple of key points. One, her people were specifically driving the deal. Let this sink in. Two, she won't say who in these agencies vetted the information and what the information was. Knowing what information was being sent to these agencies for them to review, is key. I’ll go out on a limb and say it was fraudulent.

3) Hillary said it was an accident that the Clinton Foundation didn't provide a report on the donors involved in the uranium deal who contributed over $140 million dollars to them. Wow, that's one big oversight! Seems like everyone should've known and been excited about such a HUGE contribution to their Foundation. Do liberals really believe it was an accident?

4) Obama was aware of what happened and he was outraged because he warned Hillary not to use her office for personal gain as he knew it could blow back on him. She was supposed to keep him informed of any foreign donors but she didn't. The fact is she had her own kingdom and rarely involved Obama in anything. Why, because they didn't like each other. But instead of having the DOJ conduct an investigation through an independent council he had it shut down because he didn't need another scandal. Hillary would've thrown him under the bus in a heartbeat and he should've done the same but he didn't; this is where he went wrong and it's going to negatively affect his legacy.

5) If they didn't do anything wrong why did Clinton's people work so hard to eliminate the paper trail of the movement of the uranium? They did everything they could to make it look like a deal with Canada when it was Putin who was going to get the uranium and make Russia the powerhouse when it came to nuclear power and nuclear weapons.

6) Why make the deal? Who benefited? I’ve not heard a single person explain why it was a great deal for anyone but the Clintons.

I could add more points but I'll leave it at this. What I wrote above isn't a rightwing conspiracy and if you're a liberal and reading this I hope you'll accept this fact and reflect upon your feelings towards Hillary and your own Party.

The Deserter

11/1/2017

Think about all the petty things the media has attacked Trump on and then think about their coverage of the Army deserter, Sergeant Bergdahl. It was a glorious thing in their opinion that our amazing leader President Obama brought one of our own home even though we weren't supposed to negotiate with terrorists. We turned over five Gitmo prisoners to get Bergdahl back and Democrats and the mainstream media had nothing bad to say about it.

From the very beginning, the Army knew he had deserted. All this knowledge of what Bergdahl did yet the Obama Administration made him out to be a hero even bringing his parents to take part in a video op at the White House. Not so much a celebration of Bergdahl but a celebration of what the Commander and Chief did in bringing him home. They had to make Bergdahl look like a hero to make Obama look good; what politicians like to call: "good optics."

Bergdahl recently pleaded guilty to desertion and might get life in prison. You wouldn’t know about his guilty plea and the Obama correlation if you watch the mainstream media because it wasn’t a story to them. If the roles were reversed and a Republican President did these things, they would be like a dog with a bone having non-stop media coverage of how the president endangered the country and used Bergdahl for political gain. Like I've said before, it's not only about what the media covers it's also about what they don't cover. They are no longer news agencies but propaganda machines.

Tax Reductions

11/1/2017

Reducing taxes like Trump is planning on doing will no doubt provide a boost to our economy because the fact is most Americans are spenders not savers and our consumption mentality while having a few downfalls to it, is also what has made us one of the most successful economies in the world. But when it comes to many things including economics, nothing is easy. If there was a perfect tax plan we would already be using it. Both sides realize they’re walking a tightrope because it takes a lot of faith to send tax revenues back to us knowing they have more bills to pay than money coming in thus our $19 trillion deficit and growing.

The Federal Government will only get a fraction of each dollar back while city, county, and state governments will benefit from sales taxes. All new jobs created from the reduced taxes will be highly beneficial because income taxes can be collected and more people will have money to spend, but it takes a lot of incremental sales to create one job which means Federal income taxes will take a while to build up.

I’m all for reducing taxes but I understand we’re rolling the dice a bit. The good news is if it isn’t working, the code can be changed even though Democrats are acting like it will be written in blood. I find it interesting that after eight years of silence regarding the deficit because Obama was breaking all debt records, that Democrats on the Hill are telling their constituents the Republican’s tax plan will lead us to bankruptcy. They should be ashamed.

At the end of the day what we really need is a surplus budget which means massive cuts in special interest programs that were basically political favors to legislators trying to sell their votes. We have over 400 Federal Government agencies with overlap galore. Many of the agencies can be eliminated and as taxpayers we wouldn’t notice them being gone. Almost every teacher I’ve spoken to said we don’t need a Federal Department of Education.

There are over 8,000 “Plum Jobs” (type in plum jobs in your search engine and get ready to become livid), which we could eliminate. The Federal Government has increased its size and it’s paying their employees close to 30% more than those in the private sector. Think about it, if you really want your child to get rich these days, have him or her get a government job. You don’t have to be an engineer to understand that being top heavy in anything, isn’t good.

I want to reiterate the term: “surplus budget” because a “balanced budget” which legislators haven’t been able to produce, won’t cut it anymore because our debt is so high. They need to bring in much more in tax revenues than what they’re spending (surplus), in order to pay down the debt and this means massive cuts in spending. This won’t make them popular but it’s not unlike being a parent, if you’re not making your children mad sometimes for not getting what they want, then you’re not being a good parent. Our legislators need to worry less about their careers and more about the stability of our nation not just for us but more importantly for those who will follow. How is it fair that a child in grade school will have to pay for loans they had no part in asking for?

There’s no doubt that President Trump’s plan has significant tax breaks for the middle-class but CNN didn’t cover this they focused their attention on how Trump will benefit from his tax plan. First of all, it’s not his tax plan. He didn’t write it because contrary to what Democrats and the mainstream media would have us believe, the Executive Branch doesn’t write legislation.

Regardless, anyone can read what Trump has put out so far and see that Democrats are trying to sell the narrative that tax cuts for corporations are the same as tax breaks for the rich which isn’t true. We need U.S. companies to be competitive globally and this is hard to accomplish when they're required to pay far more taxes than their competitors around the world.

In wrapping up, we won’t know how effective a tax policy will be until it’s implemented. If it were cut and dry, there wouldn’t be so many economists disagreeing on the outcome. To me, economists are a lot like psychics as they make their predictions then you don’t hear from them again because they don’t want to be held accountable for the results. Both parties just reload with new economists the next time they need back-up for whatever legislation they’re pushing.

Bernie

11/1/2017

So Bernie Sanders is claiming that Trump's response to Puerto Rico is being influenced by his racism. Just how badly does he want to hurt our country through creating division for his own political gain? He should've checked the census figures on Puerto Rico before making his outrageous claim because over 70% of the islanders are white not Hispanic. Wow, he needs to retire!

White Privilege

11/1/2017

No one I grew up with in my small town had what liberals call: "White privilege." I just finished a great book about the culture in Appalachia called Hillbilly Elegy, and nowhere in it did I see where white privilege existed; instead there were so many similarities to the culture in their poor communities compared to the projects in big cities like lack of jobs, lack of family structure, babies out of wedlock, low graduation rates, low college participation rates. Their skin color isn't getting them out of poverty but good choices could.

If an African American woman and a white woman both are born in poverty and the black woman makes good yet simple life choices (i.e. graduate high school, don't have a baby out of wedlock, remain employed, etc.), then she'll make it out of poverty whereas if the white woman doesn't make these good choices, she'll end up in poverty. Her white skin won't save her from bad choices.

Saying that I became successful because of the color of my skin is insulting to all those who have helped get me here. I've learned many lessons throughout my life including from people who didn't know they were helping me become a better person; I just sat back, watched, and learned from them.

White privilege is just another way of playing victim. It's much easier for some people to blame someone else for where they are in life. Democrats tend to provide a safe space for these people. Instead of helping African Americans accept personal accountability and making changes in their lives which could truly help their economic mobility, they throw fuel on the fire to get them riled up. It's all about politics and not solutions. If it were about solutions then Democrat controlled cities wouldn't be in the terrible shape they're in.
