Just So You Know

11/1/2016

Just a heads-up that I have way more political posts than I normally provide; of course I did this because of the election. If you're not into election stuff then I apologize in advance as there's only two or so post that aren't politically based.  I'll be back to a more balanced mix of posts next month. :)

Tom Hanks

11/1/2016

Tom is an amazing actor and director and he’s also considered one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. He has won 41 different awards including, Emmy’s, Golden Globe’s, Oscar’s, Tony’s, etc. He won most of his awards for acting but some for directing.

All actors want first and foremost to be able to make a living at acting even if the shows or movies they’re on are mediocre. Tom Hanks has gone beyond that to being part of so many awesome films like Big, Splash, Turner & Hooch, Philadelphia, Sleepless in Seattle, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Apollo 13, The Green Mile, The Da Vinci Code, etc. In all he’s been in 70 movies…an amazing career.

Hanks started in theater performing in 11 plays before he was given the role on a sitcom called
Bosom Buddies in 1980. It ran for two seasons and he immediately got into the movie industry after the show went off the air.

On a personal note, Tom got married in 1978 and they divorced after nine years of marriage. He immediately met Rita Wilson who he married the very next year and they’ve been married ever since. They have four children and his oldest Colin Hanks is also in the entertainment business; his latest sitcom is called
Life in Pieces.

It seems like Tom Hanks has quietly put together an amazing career. He’s stayed out of the limelight and both he and Rita are very humble people. It’s great when good things happen to nice people.

One Fast Mailman

11/1/2016

In 1904 a mailman from Cuba by the name of Felix Carajal decided he'd compete in the Olympics as a marathoner, he had never run one before but knew he could walk all day without a problem.

He had to work hard to save money and get donations from friends and family (along with a small stipend from the government), to attend the event in St. Louis, MO. He took a boat to New Orleans on his way to St. Louis and was robbed when he got there. He pretty much lost everything but the ...clothes on his back. He walked, ran, and hitchhiked hundreds of miles to get to the Olympics.

He arrived just in time to check in and the organizers helped him cut his pants so he could turn them into running shorts but they didn't have any tennis shoes so he had to use the heavy dress shoes he was wearing. After everything he went through including not eating or sleeping for a few days, Felix barely missed winning the bronze. If he was an American athlete he would've been on a Wheaties box. Cuba didn't get a medal but they should've been very proud.

Ground Game

11/1/2016

I find it funny every time I hear a reporter say that Clinton has a better ground game than Trump. Democrats always have a better ground game than Republicans and it makes perfect sense. There are way more Democrats who don't work (mostly young people), who are willing to volunteer or provide contract services. These people are generally the ones who look for entitlements (free college), so they are inspired to get out the votes.

Why are Democrats so much better about putting together protests? It's the same reason. Republicans are busy working, they don't have time to protest for hours and days. So the bottom line is Trump won't have as good of a ground game because most of his constituents are the ones who work hard so the rest of the people are taken care of by the government and can go out and provide a ground game for Democrats.

An Amazing Woman

11/1/2016

In the summer of 1927, Lillian Alling, a young, attractive, blond haired, Russian immigrant in New York City, was homesick and made up her mind to go back to her homeland. Because she had no money for transportation she decided to hike her way to Alaska then find a boat going to Russia.

She refused to hitchhike so she walked across the U.S. on her own. She was seen on the Yukon Trail in the northern part of British Columbia, Canada with a small backpack and an iron pipe in her hand for protection, heading towards Alaska. She was detained for her own good, by Canadian Mounties in order to prevent her from travelling through upper-Canada during the winter. They released her in the Spring.

Starting out again, she hiked along the Yukon Trail over wild mountain passes, finally reaching a small town in Alaska where she worked as a cook, purchased and repaired an old boat, and in the spring of 1929, launched it on to the Yukon River right behind the outgoing ice. The terrain was virtually impassable in this area so this is why she used a boat during this portion of her travels. She abandoned the boat eventually for overland travel, reaching Nome, Alaska and later the Bering Strait which separates the U.S. from Russia (around 55 miles across). We don't know if she made it back to her motherland as she was last seen bartering with the Eskimos for boat passage.

The moral to this story...I think a strong case could be made that women are stronger than men.

The Affordable Care Lie

11/1/2016

As Obama Care is getting a lot of press over premiums skyrocketing I want to remind you of something. Jonathan Gruber is a MIT professor in health economics and was part of the team putting Obama Care together. He is on tape several times bragging about them pulling the wool over taxpayer eyes regarding the viability long-term of the "Affordable" Care Act.

The Obama Administration lied to us and this professor admitted to it although the Administration tried to run from this guy like they didn't know him. A disgusting move as it was proven that he was one of the main architects and attended numerous White House meetings. So the Obama Administration piled one lie onto another. I can say now that they're the most corrupt Administration we've ever seen but Hillary will take the number one spot if she's elected.

John Podesta

11/1/2016

It just came out that Hillary's right hand man (John Podesta), had 65 journalists from ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, The New York Times, all kinds of media with the exception of Fox News, over to his house this year to be wined and dined. And the Democrats say there's no bias...absolutely disgusting.

Worse than this, he had dinner with some of the investigators in the Hillary email investigation. I truly never thought there could be corruption like this...I've only read about it in fictional novels. Even Bob Woodward, the famous Watergate whistleblower, said on a Sunday talk show that there's no other way to put it, the Clintons are corrupt. If you know his political ideology you know that what he said was shockingly truthful.

How Clintons Profit from their Foundation

11/1/2016

Even though the Clinton Campaign and confused followers don't want to deal with the truthful content of the WikiLeaks and instead say it's a conspiracy between Putin and Trump, some media outlets haven't sold out and are reporting the information drops.

The WSJ provided an article that talked about an 11 page letter one of Clinton Foundation employees wrote that outlines how while he worked for donations that he was also told to get business for Clinton Inc. in consulting/speaking engagements for Bill and Hillary. Like I mentioned in a previous post, the way it worked is that if he was able to convince a company or nation to donate $1.5 million to the Clinton Foundation that he'd re-work the funds and have $1 million given to the charity and the other $500,000 going to the Clintons for Bill to speak for one hour.

I'm sorry, but I can't write a post about the Clintons without using the word "disgusting." Could you imagine how the media would jump on this if the roles were reversed and it was a Republican involved in this corruption? By the way, the reason the guy wrote the long letter is that he was mad that Chelsea said he did something that was a conflict of interest and his message back to her was that if she's interested in stopping conflicts at the Clinton Foundation, her parents had about 500 of them to shut down. She opened up Pandora's Box.

Obama Care in Arizona

11/1/2016

I saw an interview of a young family in Arizona who was paying around $800 a month for medical insurance (with a HIGH deductible). They just got a letter where their insurance was going up over $1,600 a month. Of course they were in shock. They can't afford the insurance and will have to drop out. Then to add to their misery they said they'd have to pay $750 to the government because they can't afford the insurance. It's one thing knowing what's going on but I admit actually seeing what this family is going through really made it hit home with me. Obama Care is broken, it's hurting families across our country, it needs to be repealed and replaced.

Obama Care Lies

11/1/2016

A few reminders about Obama's selling of the Affordable Care Act. He said you'd be able to keep your doctors. Lie. He said cost would go down $2,500 for families. Lie. He said you can choose your insurance company. Lie. Some states only have one insurance carrier left in the program there are no options for consumers. He said you can keep your insurance plan. Lie. Plan options crashed and burned to where most people have through the roof deductibles in order to try and keep their premiums down.

There's more but I'll leave it at that as I also want to remind you of what one of the creators of Obama Care said and that is they were able to get the Obama Care legislation passed because Americans are stupid. I don't know about being stupid but there's no doubt too many are naïve as they blindly accepted the lies the Obama Administration told.
