So anyhow, as you know from some of my previous posts, I have a soft spot for people who deserve legacies. I don’t want them forgotten. I thought you should know about Mr. Vidocq because the groundwork he laid in criminal investigating and policing in general, is amazing. So, when you’re watching shows like “Criminal Minds, and “NCIS,” think Vidocq. 😊
Eugène-François Vidocq (1775 – 1857), was a French criminal turned criminalist whose life story inspired several writers, including Victor Hugo and Edgar Allan Poe. The former criminal became the founder and first director of a crime-detection agency (kind of like independent crime scene investigators), and the first private detective agency. Vidocq is considered the father of modern criminology. He introduced criminal profiling and the use of ballistic testing. He established plain clothes policemen (basically undercover).

The tall one had the nickname "Cattle Annie," while the little one was named: "Little Britches." In a movie that came out in 1981, about Cattle Annie, Diane Lane played Little Britches while Amanda Plummer played Cattle Annie. Burt Lancaster was also one of the stars of the movie.
The first time they encountered a shootout with the law, they were around 14 years old. By this time, they were already entrepreneurs, selling whiskey illegally to the Osage Indian tribe. By the way, Little Britches often disguised herself as a young, boy for various ruses. Little Britches and Cattle Annie were excellent riders and sharpshooters who dressed in men's clothing. The two women evaded law enforcement and became known for their daring pursuits throughout the region. The pair sold whisky to the Osage and Pawnee tribes and engaged in stealing horses. Note: Anna Emmaline McDoulet, known as Cattle Annie, died at the age of 95 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1978. I couldn't find when or where Jennie Stevenson, known as Little Britches, died. She was born in Kansas in 1879. Both women only served a few years for their crimes which weren't murder but other violations instead including their illegal whiskey operation. They both were married about three times each and had children. Once again, ignorance isn't in short supply. I heard a liberal claim that it was ridiculous to say that what happened in Israel was nothing like 9/11. No, it's way worse.
The U.S population around 9/11 was 297,000,000, and we lost 2,996 people to domestic terrorists. Israel only has a population of 9,950,000 and they lost 1,400 so far. The U.S. would've lost close to 50,000 innocent people if we were impacted as hard as Israel was. Would we have done a cease fire? I don't think so. When a bullet goes through a gun's barrel it goes through rifling (grooves inside the barrel), which helps get the bullet spinning so it will shoot faster and straighter.
I learned about the above bit of physics during high school baseball. One of our pitchers (Bubba), was one of very few people who could throw a knuckle ball. Even though we could tell it was coming because the ball wasn't spinning at all, it would dance around in the air and although it would come in slow, it was bouncing around too much to get a good, confident, swing at it. When you see the ball spinning fast after it leaves a pitcher's hand you know it's probably coming in hot, unfortunately, you generally have only around 1.5 seconds to decide what you're going to do with the pitch, take a swing, or hope for a ball because it's all happening so fast. Think of a car blowing by you at 100 miles per hour. Many batters face pitchers who are also throwing pitches 100 miles per hour. It can be scary. No other major professional sport is more difficult. That's why someone could make the All-Star game and only getting a hit on average one time out of three at bats (.333 batting average). That's a great goal for a batter to shoot towards. Note: The picture below shows the grooves on a rifle which cause a bullet to spin. All those young people on college campuses spewing hate rhetoric about the Israeli people are disgusting. And who are they to call for a cease fire, they weren't attacked?! They have no skin in the game, literally.
Where do people like them come from? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that by far a majority of them grew up in liberal households where God and country meant little to nothing. It's who they are. "I won't cry for yesterday, there's an ordinary world, somehow I have to find. And as I try to make my way, to the ordinary world, I will learn to survive." - Duran Duran The New York Times is at it again. After jumping the gun with a false story about Israel bombing innocents in a hospital on the Gaza Strip, they've had to recant yet another story and correct it that it appears Hamas is to blame.
Of course this is a blatant example of how far out of real journalism the Times has become because the fact of the matter is, most people through just common sense knew the story needed to be vetted beyond just one side making claims about another. The New York Times did absolutely no due diligence before running the inflammatory article. It's beyond three strikes you're out. The New York Times should start losing press credentials because they're no longer worthy. Actually, they haven't been in a while. A spinning top was one of the first toys ever discovered by archeologists and it's dated back to around 6,000 B.C. Of course several tops were discovered in excavations in both Athens and Rome because of the number of children who lived there.
These are some of the spinning tops that have been discovered: Just a reminder that is filled with truth: The U.S. has the wealthiest (by far), poor people in the world. Yet, it's often these poor people who talk so poorly about our country.
How can they explain not getting their fair share yet having more wealth than any poor people from other countries? Common sense has flown the coup. Very cheap real estate is now available in blue districts around our country. See, capitalism works! 😎 Within several days of The New York Post, breaking its story on Hunter Biden’s laptop, the FBI received a flash drive containing emails and text messages from the cellphones of one of Hunter’s business partners, confirming the contents of Hunter’s computer were real and not “disinformation,” as the FBI led social media and the public to believe.
On Oct. 23, 2020, forensic examiners from the FBI’s Computer Analysis and Response Team (CART) took into inventory the flash drive, which was loaded with the emails and texts from an iPhone and two Blackberry phones that Hunter’s former business associate Tony Bobulinski used to communicate with the president’s son about a lucrative joint venture with Chinese nationals. This corruption will become legendary. |
