There are many reasons why Elizabeth is so amazing the biggest being that her parents didn't know what kind of a future she'd have as they found out she had autism when she was 18 months old. Her particular form of autism prevented her from speaking and the motor skills in her hands were in terrible shape so she couldn't button her clothes. When she wrote her commencement speech, she typed it with one finger and while she stood at the podium, someone else said her speech in a microphone off stage while another person signed it for the hearing impaired in the crowd.
Her message to her classmates, and now for all of those who've seen her on YouTube, is extremely inspiring. If you have six minutes, please listen to what she has to say because it impacts all of us. Thanks.
