Just the fact that the federal government allows states to pick and choose which immigration laws to follow, truly blows my mind. But what's scarier still is that democrats aren't happy with just having sanctuary cities, they want policies which reflect a sanctuary country. I guess they think the writing on the Statue of Liberty about bringing your poor, etc., etc., is written in the Constitution but it isn't.
Correct immigration policies can successfully build a nation just like incorrect ones can destroy one. I can tell you that countries like Britain, France, and Germany, wish they wouldn't have been so inclusive as it has created division in their countries politically and they're in much worse economic shape than what they were previous to opening up immigration. Surely lessons can be learned.
We should bring in people who will make our country better which means they should be thoroughly vetted. For example if housing and farming are booming, then bring in workers who can help. But the key is to bring in people who will make us stronger, not drain the system. Our economy goes up and down so the number of immigrants we allow in should also go up and down based on our needs. Let me repeat, our needs. We help people all around the world especially during natural disasters. When we're weakened, we can't help others like we'd like to help. Viewing only the needs of people from Hispanic countries due to their countries conditions, is very narrow minded. The bottom line is this, no policies should make us weaker and that's exactly what the Biden Harris Administration is doing.
