There's a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It's a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It's the middle ground between light and shadow. It's located between science and superstition. It lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of the imagination and you can find it in an area called: "The Twilight Zone."
I have never, ever, ever, heard in my political lifetime, so many Democrats afraid of the debt going up. They and the Obama Administration broke all debt records, yet I never heard the words debt and deficit come out of their mouths. It’s shameless that they’re bringing it up now. I'm not saying they don't have a beef because I also think we might increase our debt just not at the rate Obama was jacking it up.
Dems should be embarrassed at their double-standards. More than anything else I hope and pray their concern about our debt will remain long after this latest news cycle. I'm so tired of the games in D.C. by both political parties. Ever wonder why the keyboard is set up the way that it is instead of just being laid out in alphabetical order? The first manual typewriters were set up in alphabetical order with each character set on the end of a metal bar that struck the paper when each key was pressed but they found a problem. When an operator had learned to type at a fast speed the bars attached to letters that lay close together on the keyboard became entangled. One way out of the difficulty was to find out which letters were most often used and then place them on the keyboard as far from each other as possible. This had the effect of reducing the chance of tangling the bars and having to fix them before the individual could continue typing. This was how the QWERTY keyboard was born, named after the first six letters on the top line.
Pelosi hasn't run out of adjectives yet to attack the Republican's tax plan as she just used the word "Unpatriotic" to describe the plan. Even when all the proof points towards the middle-class clearly getting a good tax break, she keeps pushing an obstructionist role.
All those people getting bonuses and pay raises certainly know she's lying. Pelosi just doesn't care about ethics anymore as the end justifies the means is her administration's mantra. One of the great messages from the Torah is that our legacy isn't sealed upon our death but upon how we live each moment. It's hard to make a legacy but it's even harder to live one.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter, a faith-based marriage enrichment program, sponsored a contest to find the longest-married couple in America. About 150 couples had been married for 60 to 69 years; 100 couples had been married for 70 to 79 years; and three couples had been married for more than 80 years!
The winning couple, Marshall and Winnie Kuykendall, has been married for 82 years. They lived in New Mexico (both have passed), where they celebrated their 82nd anniversary on February 14, 2011. I love being married but wow, 82 years and both around 100 years old. Not that I don't like it down here on the 3rd rock from the sun but I'd rather move on to a better place before I'm that old, where I can hang out for eternity with awesome people. Great news, no Democrats or cats will be there. Hey, don't kill the messenger! New York City is the 18th largest city in the world with a population of a little less than nine million. Tokyo is by far the largest with over 13 million people living there.
I tend to think that were the biggest when it comes to practically everything, but the fact is it’s a huge world and we’re not always the biggest or the best. There’s a new show coming out that's called "Dear White People" and I don't know everything about it, but I’ll share what I picked up. The premise of the show is that racism shows no sign of abating and black lives are still being lost to white policemen. It’s the televised version of taking a knee or using a hashtag. A show that I don’t think will help race relations but that’s just my opinion.
The show could be good as I don't have a clue, but I do have a feeling that if I came up with a television show called: "Dear Black People" and I went into details why I don't think they understand me; basically belittling them for not understanding, it wouldn't fly. I'd be called a racist and there's no way any network would pick up the show. Double standards abound. Why doesn’t the media call out the people behind this show for stoking the fires of racism? I won't be watching: Dear White People. Well, maybe the first episode to see what they’re up to. Government employees always want more government and many of these employees are unionized. We talk about less government but there's a whole other movement of people pushing to protect their jobs (understandably), and it's typically done behind closed doors because the basic ideology of more government or a lot of government, doesn't fit the core beliefs of an average citizen in the United States.
How could we help reduce the size of government besides getting rid of unnecessary government agencies? One, is to remove all unions tied to the public sector. They don't need a union at least not now anyway. The public sector makes a lot more money and has better benefits than an average U.S. citizen in the private sector. This is a recipe for disaster. You don't have to be an economic genius to understand that when private sector employees leave to go to the public sector because the money is better, we're going down. We will be bankrupt and then see how people scramble around for their assumed entitlements. That's how it should be, but it won't...no one wants to talk accountability and sacrifice. Politicians aren't sharing the truth about our budget, debt, or deficit because it would reflect badly upon them. It won't be easy to turn things around as to how our Federal government is being run but we can't afford to sit back as I'm sure you care about the world you'll be leaving behind. |
