A lot of people don't know that the U.S. purchased the Alaskan territory from Russia in 1867 for $.39 cents per acre. Russia was no longer interested in being in North America because both Britain and France were doing a lot of fighting and grabbing various land in Canada, and they didn't know what their endgame was; they didn't want to fight a war over land that appeared to be worth little.
This along with the fact that very few of their citizens ever migrated to Alaska because it was very dangerous territory. Now unfortunately for them, great resources were discovered such as gold and oil, so the land value went up substantially. Alaska finally became a state in 1959 and just so you know, Russia is just 55 miles from Alaska. They actually own some islands that are even closer but they're uninhabitable, thus why Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from Alaska. Democrats and the media wore her out over her claim, but she was right, and wouldn't you know it, they never came back to apologize for attacking her. Surprised? I think not. We've all heard various female athletes complain about women making less in sports as if men were holding them back. This is yet another example of how liberals don't want the truth because quite frankly it's not any kind of mystery, they only bring in a fraction of the fans and merchandise sales of the NBA players. Of course they should make much less money than the men, our country was built on capitalism.
One of the things which angers me the most, is that so many feminists are on board with blaming men for not making the same kind of money. Now if you asked one of them whether they attend WNBA games, almost all of them would have to say no, they don't go to WNBA games. They're not putting their money where their mouths are, and this shows their lack of integrity. Women should fill up the arenas in support of other women. Why should guys be responsible for doing this? It makes no sense. But what angers me most of all is that if it weren't for the NBA there would be no WNBA because they subsidize the women's league. Are they grateful for this? No. Instead of attacking others for them not making the money they think they should, they should be writing thank you notes to the commissioner of the NBA that they get the opportunity to play the sport. It's time to own up to reality and quit the blame game. It is women who failed the WNBA, not men. Good luck finding any woman who can name their top five favorite WNBA players. I'll make it even easier. Ladies, how about coming up with the names of five WNBA teams? How about the same two questions regarding the NBA? Shouldn't be any problem. Thus, why the men make more money. Like I wrote earlier, it's simple, it's just that it doesn't fit their liberal narrative of men taking advantage of women. Let me wrap up with this. The women's World Cup brought in $131 million dollars while the men's league brought in over $6 billion. I think we all know why they make less money than men so quit trying to convince us otherwise. Thanks. Our politicians on The Hill have a 9% approval rating. This is the worst ever and justified in my opinion.
Muammar al-Qaddafi seized control of the Libyan government in 1969 and ruled as an authoritarian dictator for more than 40 years before he was overthrown in 2011. His atrocities were numerous, and he was hunted down, beaten, and shot by citizens on the street. It was a horrific scene. Which brings me to this; Muammar had a 13% approval rating around the time of his death. Does this bring up any ideas? 😁 So, if I'm hearing this correctly, the FBI didn't ask for the documents they were taking in their raid. This isn't normally done as they're supposed to ask for any evidence. They certainly didn't raid Hillary's house over the server, instead they allowed she and her lawyers to clean up the emails before turning them over which ended up leading to over 30,000 emails getting deleted. She was treated like royalty from the DOJ whereas the DOJ has had a target on Trump.
Keep in mind, Trump's lawyers were working with the FBI for quite a while now and they were cooperative with turning over specific evidence the FBI requested so why conduct a raid? This is the question everyone should be asking. There's been a terrible double-standard when it comes to how the DOJ processes democrats and republicans, this was exposed years ago with the IRS and Lois Lerner. Trump is hated by the Left and they've been aggressively going after him, his family, and his business associates ever since he won the presidency. They get raided, while liberal politicians do not. The bias in the DOJ towards the Democratic Party is blatant and republicans will be exposing it when they take over the House and Senate. Heads are going to roll. It's about time. Common sense certainly isn't common these days. For democrats (constituents) to not understand that the $7,000 subsidy for anyone purchasing a new electric car, is actually a break for the wealthy, is beyond scary. Rarely do the masses in the middle-class and certainly not lower incomes, purchase vehicles this expensive. So simple but they just don't get it. Maybe it's time to pull their voter cards because people with their mentality are dangerous to our Republic.
I guess democrats are dead set on bringing our country down. The latest proof of this is the legislation they just passed called The Inflation Reduction Act. I find it interesting that they chose this name for the Bill even though it has nothing to do with the reality of the legislation. Of course, this is a Hail Mary for them since voters are livid about inflation and they blame the Democratic Party so they’re intentionally misleading people about the effectiveness of this Bill.
The extra things democrats are getting with this legislation include: 1) Green initiatives $369B 2) Deficit Reduction $300B. 3) Increase corporate taxes $333 billion. 4) Expand IRS $124B. I’m all for reducing our deficit but what’s the reality of the Bill’s inflation reduction capabilities? It’s not real at all. Before voting yes, Bernie Sanders trashed the legislation. In his speech he listed credible agencies, like the CBO, who have stated that the new legislation will hurt inflation, not help it. Democrats are wanting us to believe that these sources, which both parties have been using for decades, are no longer telling the truth. Let’s see, who should we believe? Note sarcasm. Democrats are doubling the number of employees in the IRS with 87,000 new workers. This will cost taxpayers around $16 billion annually to add these employees. They’ll have more employees than Border Patrol, the FBI, the State Department, and Pentagon combined. I don’t know about you, but I find this scary especially since the IRS has been caught numerous times going after conservative people and organizations. Remember Lois Lerner. She pleaded the fifth because she was guilty and then she goes off into the sunset to enjoy her lucrative pension. I would like for you to think about something and really let it set in. They’re adding 87,000 new employees to audit people making over $400,000 a year but this is only around 1.8% of taxpayers. They want us to believe that these new employees are about making sure the wealthy are paying their fair share when there’s no doubt it will be an IRS army going after whomever they wish. Either they twiddle their thumbs because there aren’t enough rich people to go after, or they get their hands dirty doing the dirty work for the Democratic Party. I say it’s the latter. One last thing, in reference to pieces of the Green New Deal that they worked in, I’ll give you a prediction based on past experiences. Most of the money for climate initiatives will go to liberal states. And as usual, green companies will grow only because they’re subsidized because the market doesn’t support these industries primarily due to inconveniences and costs such as $70,000 for an electric vehicle. It absolutely isn’t realistic. And then in their usual corrupt fashion, family, and friends of the democrats, will land awesome jobs at these green businesses. Democrats in the House and Senate will leverage the money they now must spend, for their personal gain in various quid pro quos. It’s how they roll. We’re allowing pretty much the worst among us to represent us. I think we should all see a psychiatrist. 😁 Not many people knew who Bob Keeshan was, but they did know the character he played by the name of Captain Kangaroo. Mr. Rogers and Bob Keeshan were friends and they both wanted to find ways to give children a positive experience to where they could grow intellectually but also to help them become more morally sound.
You must be old to remember this one, but Keeshan got his start playing Clarabelle the Clown, on the hit children’s show: It’s Howdy Doody Time. They didn’t have a clue that Clarabelle would end up being such a huge hit. Keeshan was like a magnet to kids. Before taking on this job he was in the Marine Reserves and then he went to Fordham University where he got a degree in Child Education. Keeshan began working on some children’s television concepts with a long-time friend of his by the name of Jack Miller. They came up with the idea of Captain Kangaroo and submitted the concept to CBS, which was looking for innovative approaches to children's television programming. By the way, Keeshan was wearing a blue sports coat and it had huge pockets so Jack made fun of him and said that he could fit a kangaroo in one of the pockets; thus, Captain Kangaroo was born. CBS approved the show, and Keeshan starred as the title character when it premiered on CBS on October 3, 1955. He described his character as based on "the warm relationship between grandparents and children". The show was an immediate success, and he served as its host for nearly three decades. I think only Sesame Street has had the longevity that Captain Kangaroo experienced. To keep the length of this post down, I won’t mention all the awards Keeshan received but they were numerous including Four Emmy’s. Heart health became an issue, and he began backing down from the show but kept doing charity work up until his death in 2004 at 76 years of age. Keeshan died in Windsor, Vermont, on January 23, 2004, at age 76. He was survived by three children: Michael Derek, Laurie Margaret, and Maeve Jeanne. His wife of 45 years, Anne Jeanne Laurie Keeshan, died February 25, 1996. Keeshan's grandson, Britton Keeshan, became the youngest person at that time to have climbed the Seven Summits by climbing Mount Everest in May 2004. He carried photographs of his grandfather on that ascent and buried a photo of the two of them at the summit. Thank you, Captain Kangaroo, for improving so many lives. You were an extraordinary man. I’ll catch up with you at our home port. |
