First of all, it's amazing to me that after two years of vicious attacks on the President regarding Russian collusion, Democrats completely pivoted to obstruction as if they hadn't said a thing about Trump being a traitor and a Russian agent. Every day, comments were made by Democrats and the mainstream media to divide our country by attacking a sitting President. This is where we've gotten as a nation on the political front and we will never recover. The unethical tactics that are being deployed now by Democrats, in an effort to unseat President Trump, will be deployed by Republicans because they'll think it's only fair. Both parties will sink deeper and deeper in the mud.
Democrats are trying to make it seem that A.G. Barr was trying to mislead them about the findings of the Mueller Report, but he didn't. What he mentioned in his memo was true. Robert Mueller hasn't gone back on his conclusions. He stated there was no evidence of Russian collusion and that they didn't feel they had enough evidence to charge President Trump with obstruction of justice but turned it over to A.G. Barr for his thoughts regarding the obstruction charge. This is exactly what Barr wrote in his memo. Why in the world would Barr try to mislead them when the report was going to come out; it's an absolutely ridiculous charge but Democrats make it because their naive constutients will buy into it.
It came out that some Democrats and the mainstream media were in fact misleading people in saying that Trump's team was involved in the redactions of the report. Of course A.G. Barr had to work with the Mueller team along with intelligence agencies, that's his job, but Trump's team, outside of Barr, made no attempts to be involved in what was and what wasn't redacted. Not a single phone call was made to get Barr to redact more information. Democrats implicated Trump when he did nothing but allow the Attorney General to do his job. All of this were yet more lies to destabilize our country for political gain.
Then there's their focus on obstruction. Mueller's team said they didn't have enough evidence to charge Trump. A little something neither Democrats or the mainstream media want to go through our minds is that why would Trump try to obstruct an investigation when he was innocent? It only makes sense that he'd want Mueller to get to the truth because he'd be exhonorated. The problem is that too many people don't use common sense and logic when it comes to politics.
What do Democrats hope to accomplish in this hearing? If after two years of investigating with 19 attorneys, 40 FBI agents, forensic accountants, 2,800 subpoena's issued, 500 witnesses interviewed including everyone involved in Trump's campaign and on his current staff, over 500 search warrants executed, 13 requests for documents from foreign countries, $25 million dollars spent, etc., and they couldn't find anything, just how exactly are these politicians going to get to the supposed "truth," they say they're after? They can't and they know this. All they're doing is trying to create a false narrative that justice wasn't served in order to fire up their base. Fighting the alleged good fight means more campaign money.
Democrats on the panel are doing everything they can to make it appear that Trump committed obstruction because he made derogatory comments about Mueller and that he fired Sessions because he was basically of no use since he recused himself from overseeing the Mueller investigation. This isn't obstruction. He had to make sure A.G. Sessions was doing his job, no more, no less. President Obama sure used A.G. Lynch and A.G. Holder to his advantage.
Some Democrats and the mainstream media were running wild with crazy accusations and Trump wanted to get them to stop as quickly as possible through getting the report out since he felt he was innocent. Then there's the fact that people who were involved in the investigation were getting caught working against Trump like Brennan, McCabe, Page, Strzok, etc. People were getting fired from the Mueller team only after word got out as to what these people were doing.
Trump had every right to question what was happening. Trump actually had the legal right as President, to stop a corrupt investigation, which was clear that it was. The reason being is that a corrupt investigation into a sitting President, is dangerous to the citizens of the United States and the political process in general. He needed A.G. Sessions to ensure accountability which includes the integrity of the investigation and the length of it; this is what A.G.'s do. Once again, this is in no way obstruction of justice, this was an attempt at ensuring justice.
This hearing isn't about getting to the truth. Democrats just need to keep a narrative of corruption on the table in order to better position candidates who are running in 2020. It's just the way it is now.
