I've written before about how a public-sector employee helps our economy much less than a private sector employee. If we start having talented private sector employees going to the public sector to make more money, we're in serious trouble. To add insult to injury, these Federal employees were given $351 million dollars in bonuses. Are you ready to march on D.C. yet?
I realize some people don't like discussing or reading about politics, but this could be dangerous. While we were sleeping (so to speak), the above transition took place where an average government employee in general (not just the crazy salaries above), became much more lucrative than what the private sector offers.
Would you consider searching out your representatives via Bing or Google and then send them a brief note about how livid you are about the public sector making more than the private sector. Across the board, the public-sector averages 27% more in salary and benefits.
Even if you don’t enjoy the topic of politics, I strongly believe you owe it to your children to put the hammer down on government abuse because if you don't, your children will end up with a marker they can't cover. The economy will crash. Money put into retirement funds will dissipate. Healthcare will be for the elites. Jobs will go away. If you don't think this can happen look up countries who have gone bankrupt which includes Greece. You think rioting is bad here now, wait till people start losing the basics.
