Bob Costas is recognized as one of the greatest sportscasters of all time. He has 11 Olympic Games under his belt. So, with how well he's respected, what he said about athletes like former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and NBA star LeBron James during an interview Tuesday with CNN has really blown up, and tempers are flaring.
He basically said that some of the country’s highest-profile athletes who style themselves to be warriors for human rights, turn into lapdogs when the subject turns to China. How in the world can they make the claims they made about the U.S., and aren't willing to boycott China or speak out against their human rights violations? These guys run their mouths all the time but go mute with anything to do with China because it is a huge market for sports, especially basketball. How about walking the talk? How about showing some integrity?
