There's no doubt in my mind that many of the college students don't have a clue what their mascot represents all they see is some old, white guy, and write him off as racist. Again and and again they jump at every issue without doing due diligence so they don't make fools of themselves. This is what they're doing all around the country as they take down statue after statue of people who helped fight slavery.
One last thing that I found interesting regarding his presentation is that around eight hecklers were screaming at him and flipping him off. He asked them to tell him what he said that wasn't factual and/or was there anything he said that upset them . He pleaded with them to debate and instead, after all the screaming and yelling, they left without engaging him. They had an awesome opportunity to prove their points but they ran. This is a great example of how these young people work. It's just about the protests and riots as it gives them a feeling of power. They hear there's going to be one and they head to where they are told.
The scary thing is that it's difficult to teach common sense, logic, and wisdom. There's something is in the water because these traits are seriously lacking these days.
