Some illegal aliens who were guilty of various crimes were warned by the mayor of Oakland that I.C.E. would be performing raids. Keep in mind that most of the violent offenders committed crimes against their own people. This truly does blow me away; I never thought there would be so much rogue activity against the Federal Government with no consequences.
I've mentioned this before, but have you ever wondered why California is so friendly to illegals? I've dug into this one a lot and here are three things that impact their love for people coming over the border illegally.
1) Agriculture in California is one of the big money makers when it comes to tax revenues, so they need this industry to do as well as possible. Other countries are providing much more produce than they did before. Much of the orange juice we used to drink was proudly from California and Florida and they'd list it on the carton. Now, much of it is from Brazil.
California needs the cheap labor to stay competitive. The more sales and mostly profits these agricultural companies make the better off the city and state governments are. And for a state buried in debt, it’s critical they squeeze every dollar out of everything they can.
2) They think that although some money is going back to Mexico and Central America, that most of it is spent on products and services here. The problem is that although they might get some sales taxes, in general they won’t get income taxes because so many illegals take money under the table. They also think they're collecting enough to offset the drain on their economy (social benefits), but there’s no evidence of this in fact it’s just the opposite.
3) There’s always the voting aspect as well since Democrats are trying to increase the minority voting block. They are pushing for non-residents to be able to vote since they do provide sales taxes. Of course, they want these people to vote as a Republican would never win another election (well not until the economy crashed and burned because of the social debt weight).
In most cases the answers to why Democrats do what they do can be found by following the money. Democrats like to make everything sound like moral issues when in fact they're tax revenue issues, you just have to peel back enough layers to expose them. Why the push for $15 an hour, because they’ll get close to twice the amount of payroll taxes from employers and hourly wage earners. Once again, Democrats don’t care as much about the workers as they do maximizing tax revenues.
This mayor in Oakland needs to be arrested for obstruction of justice as she's put her community at risk in keeping some hard-core criminals on the streets. If we don't push back against this crazy, liberal, ideology, we're going to be in serious trouble.
