Then there's the fact that once again she throws out common sense and logic to let the wild theories flow. I'd say the main reason most immigrants are trying to get into our country, isn't because we have less climate change in the U.S., but that they're looking for better opportunities for themselves and their children as they always have. Drought and bad crops weren't the prime cause of socialism failing in Central America. Nothing has changed in that area of the world as rainfall levels cycle.
Central America wasn't in a drought situation in 2014 when they were flooding our borders and President Obama called it a crisis. AOC can't tie weather patterns to migration in the United States but the truth is just an inconvenient obstacle to her. California took a huge hit to agriculture when the fires hit. Around 1,500 miles away, the upper mid-west took a huge hit to crops because of flooding yet the migrants are still coming.
I find it amazing that she pushes climate change to the level she has when fires were hitting one section of our country and 1,500 miles away there's flooding. Does climate change pick and choose the area it will hit? Why wasn't there fire at both locations if the sun is burning down? The fires won't continue and the flooding won't continue, so why is that? There were more hurricanes the first fifty years in the U.S. than there has been in the last fifty years. This doesn't support her theory. I think there is some global warming but it's due to population growth but I certainly don't believe that immigrants are flooding our borders because of climate change.
Let's face it, if you look up the word "crazy" in the dictionary, her picture is there. What scares me even more, is that there are crazy people out there (who vote), who believe her.
