U.S. Presidents have it in their authority to commute sentences and exonerate felons (clear their records). Let this sink in. A jury of their peers wherever that may be even in small town, Iowa, convicts these people and someone in the Federal Government gets to overturn their decisions.
I realize this has been going on forever, but it doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. There needs to be guidelines on how many pardons are given out (Obama did hundreds), and for what types of sentences. President Obama released over a hundred felons from prison. He's not the only one so I don't blame him, I blame the system.
Please let your representatives know that you don't agree with this practice and that you want a major overhaul of the pardoning process.
