Last year I paid as low as $1.77 a gallon at Costco. Now the best prices I'm getting are around $3.39 a gallon. Almost double! Most people will be spending around $800 more a year on fuel if these prices stay where they are now.
Sometimes figuring out why prices are being jacked-up, is kind of difficult, but in this case, economists can point to one thing that has changed thus spiking oil prices and that is Biden's new energy policies which included closing down the Alaskan Pipeline.
Under Trump, we became energy independent for the first time in our history as a nation; Biden ended this on day one of his Administration. Because it was about good policies, no, just a good old-fashioned case of TDS which is much more dangerous in the long run than COVID-19.
By the way, will the federal government send subsidies to low-income car owners to help offset the massive price increases in fuel? No. With this in mind, then anyone who purchases fuel is being taxed, rich or poor, for the same amount. An 80-year-old woman who is living off of social security can't afford hundreds of dollars more per year just to fill up her tank. Forget what Dems are saying, look at what they're doing to the very people they're saying they're helping. They are knowingly taking advantage of the disadvantaged in our country. That's just not right and it angers me profoundly.
