I'm concerned that already outrageous oil prices will surge this week because of the sanctions on Russia's oil exports. Some experts believe that countries will begin cutting deals with Iran, whose oil exports have been pretty much banished. More than likely the average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. will reach $4.00 (on average $2.65 under Trump), and of course California might hit the $6.00 mark with their punitive taxes.
This news will shake up our markets and it didn't have to happen. Because republicans fought so hard for energy independence, the rest of the world wasn't a factor in this aspect of our economy. We had control. We had stability which positively impacted our economy overall including the stock market. We didn't need to worry about the craziness in the energy market and as a matter of fact, we benefited because countries were willing to pay us more for our oil.
But now, instead of correcting their wrongs and taking some political hits, the Biden Administration is behind the scenes trying to work out deals to replace the oil we were getting from Russia. This is called being weak. Why in the world would be do business with them when it wasn't necessary? When we do this, we prop up an adversary. Isn't this basic logic?
I truly don't get what some democrats are thinking unless their overall goal is to bring our country down. When it comes to the far left who seem to hate our country, it's a distinct possibility.
Side note: I believe historians will acknowledge that Putin went dormant during the Trump Administration because he knew Trump wasn't political. Whereas the Obama Administration was honoring Russia's demand for a no-fly zone over Syria, Trump immediately had our military drop bombs on areas where the Syrian rebels needed help. Russia was livid, but did they do anything, no. I truly find it amazing that democrats were able to convince so many Americans that Trump was a friend to Russia when he was actually the worst nightmare for them since the great, President Ronald Reagan.
