I'll probably get the vaccine, but not without thought and not without there being a possibility that I could back out. Here's the thing...whether you want the vaccine or not, you're right. The fact is, we all take a risk with a new vaccine. None of these companies, nor the federal government, know the mid to long-term effect of the vaccines. They couldn't. What if one of the ingredients is found to cause cancer a couple of years out? Quite frankly, finding out that there are unanticipated consequences from various drugs, or other products as well, is a fairly common occurrence. It's just part of the process. We become part of the long-term trial whether we like it or not.
I mention this because I don't think people should attack those who are worried about getting the vaccine. Maybe they think that the odds are good, based on current results, that if they get the virus, the odds of the end result being deadly are negligible and that they're more concerned about what we don't know at this point. This is logical as is the belief that vaccines work.
The reason for this post is that I ask everyone to be patient and understanding of others when it comes to this pandemic and how they process it. None of us have all the answers and let's face it, they keep changing the answers. Fauci has done so many flipflops that he looks like a gymnast. Hang in there, and may peace and joy be with you always.
