Here's another crazy thing, even though these islands are so close, if you took a boat, you'd arrive 21 hours later. Why is this? Because the International Dateline runs between the U.S. and Russia. Basically, you can cross the line and it's a day later, but then turn around back into yesterday. Cyndi better hold off on including this little tidbit along with her lesson on how close Russia is, because her students minds would be blown. Shoot, my mind's still blown by this. 😁
