I realize it's a lot of money but I admit that it wouldn't be enough for me based on not only all the responsibilities, but also at least somewhere in a state, especially New York, is a crisis of some sort. It would be like being a doctor and always on call.
Add to that, where could you go to not be interrupted? How many complaints do these governors hear even when they're just going out to eat? How many favors do they uncomfortably have to hear and turn down thus upsetting people?
I have zero desire to be a politician at any level of government, and I'm glad some people do want to serve. As for me, the salary for governors is completely reasonable. Some of them even deserve a raise.
