If you look at what the average household income was in 1978 compared to where we are today (factoring out inflation to be fair), most households are up 22%. It doesn't take looking at a database to figure this out, just look at the average lifestyles of the "middle-class," and it's better than ever. Most people are doing well. They're homes are filled with wants not just needs. People are upgrading their vehicles more quickly. They eat out frequently compared to years ago.
So the bottom line is people aren't falling backwards into poverty thus shrinking the middle-class, it's just the opposite. But the truth doesn't matter to these Dems; they know the middle-class isn't going backwards into poverty. They're going to create a middle-class crisis and then promise that they'll save these poor people from Republicans who are taking them down. Politics is a dirty business and our elected officials love rolling around in the mud.
