The U.S. makes up around 4.4% of the world’s population. There’s nothing we can do in reference to green initiatives to save the world in any way. All we’d be doing is raising the costs of living on U.S. citizens thus making us less effective at competing with the rest of the world.
For example, if you made a drink that had 95.6% alcohol in it and then added 4.4% orange juice, all you’d taste is the alcohol. Or if you took a gallon of paint that had 96% blue and 4% yellow, you might see a smidgeon of green but it’s highly unlikely. The massive amount of blue paint would overpower the impact of the yellow paint. There’s nothing the U.S. can do to improve the air quality around the globe or limit the water from rising. Quite frankly, it’s ludicrous to think so.
Here's a little tidbit the Left leaves out of their propaganda and that is liberal countries like France and Germany are struggling with attempting to reduce things like carbon emissions. Electrical grid problems are frequent, causing their citizens to adjust their power usage. Could you imagine if their people were driving electric vehicles? They’d have to turn up their AC during the summer and turn down their heat during the winter. Some of them would need to turn off appliances while charging their vehicles overnight.
This isn’t speculation, this is going on now. By the way, a lot of citizens in France were worried about having a nuclear power plant so they demanded the government shut it down which is a difficult process. Guess what? The impact of power outages is causing a lot of these very same people, to demand nuclear power come back. I guess this is the life of a liberal. Demanding the government do things that they know nothing about.
The U.S, has been blessed over the last 100 years or so when it comes to innovation and creating products that most of the world uses, not just U.S. citizens. Therefore, lifestyles here, even for the poor, are far better than in other countries. For example, our poor have places for food and shelter. They have housing, smart phones, televisions, and Xbox’s. A poor person from another country would consider our poor to be rich. Our economic system has raised living conditions for all our citizens even though the Left tries to convince everyone otherwise.
I have no problem working our way towards cleaner energy but not at the expense of lifestyles of U.S. citizens. We’d be hurting our people and still not making a dent in climate change. So why are some on the Left pushing so hard for things like the Green New Deal, well, follow the money.
When our politicians score cash, they use it for quid pro quos. It gives them power. When Biden was VP and they pushed for the stimulus package, he got to allocate every single dollar to members of both parties. He of course stuck it to republicans who he didn’t like, and he greased the tracks for his family and friends in various places around the country. Of course those that he got jobs for at Solyndra, lost them when the company went bankrupt.
They, this includes some republicans, get family and friends awesome jobs at the companies that receive the cash from taxpayers. They get lucrative jobs when they leave office, at once again, companies that they gave money to. Many politicians get cake jobs on various company boards where they only work four times a year (board meetings) and make over $100,000. They can still bring in money from other sources and some of them will get on boards of several companies and enjoy lifestyles of the rich and famous working 16 times or so per year.
I just don’t think that enough people understand how corrupt our government has become. This kind of thing has always gone on it’s just that it’s been accelerated because of the moral decline in our country. Politicians now blatantly lie pretty much every single day. Even when we’ve heard and/or seen the truth, some politicians don’t want us to believe it and believe them instead. It’s shocking. Please tell me that most Americans aren’t this naïve.
The bottom line when it comes to climate change and what we can do about it, is that lies are coming in fast and furious. Have you heard one of these green politicians explain how we can change the world when we only have around 4% of the world’s population? They don’t. They won’t.
Our carbon emissions have already gone down significantly but it had more to do with a shift from a lot of manufacturing to other revenue sources, such as internet businesses, because the world has changed. Countries like China and India still do a lot of manufacturing, so they are putting out a lot of carbon into the atmosphere, but we have no control over what these countries do.
They’ve been members of the Paris Climate Accord and yet they never live up to their obligations. They don’t even pay their fines. It’s become a joke and thus why President Trump wanted out of the agreement that Kerry and Obama signed because it was just a lie that countries were working together to reduce emissions. It was for show to appease some liberals.
If countries like these don’t change, then we can’t make a dent in climate issues so why in the world would we punish U.S. citizens by increasing their costs of living? Do you want to be forced to purchase an electric vehicle that costs $70,000? And to do it for what? To make liberals feel better? Absolutely ridiculous. Please let your politicians know where you stand. I appreciate it!
