Liberal Professors

10/1/2017

The statistics are all over the place but in general around 61% of college professors identify themselves as being far left in their ideology. The president of Wesleyan University in Connecticut recently said that liberal professors outnumber conservatives on his campus 22 to 1.

Whatever the actual numbers I think we can agree that most college professors are providing their students a liberal view of the world and this is one of the reasons why the students get so irate about conservative speakers coming in because they’ve been indoctrinated into thinking that conservatives are evil and don’t care about people or the environment. The fact is they wouldn’t be as susceptible to their professors’ influence if they were a few years older according to research regarding brain development.

What’s interesting is if you compare the Democrat Party to the Republican Party it’s pretty much 50/50 and this is why Presidential elections are often so close. So even though young people aren’t being exposed to conservative ideas it still ends up shaking out. The reason for this is that young people in general are not that good at getting out to vote and by the time they reach the age of 30 and have been out in the real world for a while, many convert to the Republican Party not the other way around which should tell us something.

Think about it, once these kids experience reality, they often change parties. This is very telling. I wonder what would happen if more college students were exposed to conservative ideology? What kind of an impact might it have on elections? We’ll probably never know because these so-called higher level learning institutions are ideologically inbred. Maybe this should be challenged in public universities? Maybe it’s time for political quotas to ensure greater ideological balance in our young people? I realize this is crazy thinking but it’s interesting to at least ponder.
