I think the problem a lot of people have is they still hold on to an old concept that the media is a watchdog group. Those days are over. Watch the first ten minutes of any nightly news show and you'll notice they share very little facts but a lot of ideological dialogue. Listen as they inject opinions to Trump's demeanor and intent.

The question of "why" is for opinion pieces that aren't factual news but ideology that people like to read to support their own views of the world.
