Without memories, our lives have no context. Let that sink in for a moment. We'd be floating without any type of anchor. This is what Alzheimer's patients deal with, among other things. They have no context. From day to day, components of their lives kick in and some leave. One day they might remember what happened to them in the 8th grade but not have a clue about anything that happened that week. It's beyond scary.
Once again let this thought process sink in if it happened to you. You get up and recognize your spouse one day and then the next someone is talking to you who in your mind, you just met a few minutes ago. I mention this because in my opinion, cancer has negatively impacted most of our lives but Alzheimer's is so scary for those who have it. My heart goes out to all these people. Donations going to both of these causes in one way or another are appreciated. Thanks.
