Democrats and some Republicans, are pushing hard for Federal sales taxes on on-line sales (some states already have them in place). They make the claim that they are trying to save brick and mortar (mom and pop stores), but is it their primary motive? I don't think so. Keep in mind, even many small businesses offer their products on-line.
They've not had a balanced budget in such a long time thus our deficit skyrocketing under Obama. Not just Obama's fault but the legislature as well. They don't care about the mom and pops more than they care about getting more tax revenue in to try and hide their failures at managing our tax dollars.
Instead of fixing problems they're going to use these additional tax revenues off on-line sales as a major bump in their credit line. Just like our own households if we're in debt, we can either bring in more money or begin getting rid of stuff. They don't want to get rid of the pork they've passed because pork equals votes.
I think it's shameful that these politicians want to gouge taxpayers under the guise that it's to save small businesses because even these small businesses can easily sell products on-line and they're doing so. Politicians are shameless.
