There are so many things about our abilities as human beings that blow my mind and among them is our ability to hear. The three smallest bones in our body are found in our ears; the Anvil, Hammer, and Stirrup. They work together to take sound waves and vibrate them into electrical signals which go into our brain. The signals are then interpreted based on our past experiences and learnings. I find this absolutely amazing.
Speaking (or writing) of learning sounds, do you remember that toy from Fisher Price called: “The Farmer Says” where you’d select an animal on a large dial then pull the string and you’d hear the sound it made (i.e. chicken, dog, duck, etc.)? I have to give a shout out to Fisher Price for all they did to help me learn when I was a child and are still doing today for children around the world after 87 years of being in business.
