She didn't just start performing philanthropy when she became involved in politics for image purposes, her parents taught her the importance of giving back so when she became an adult she was a major contributor to various causes none more so than to improve the quality of education in our country.
The education deficit that continued to grow between us and other countries like China and Japan became a great concern to her years ago because of the global economy. She began looking at and investing in alternative teaching models trying to close the gap on what some private schools offer (like she grew up in), and what a lot of children in the public school system were getting. Her goal quite simply for years now has been to increase the quality of education for the disadvantaged and some of her views went against the Teacher's Union who have been fighting alternative methods for years; which does beg the question why?
Americans spoke up in the last election that they're tired of the status quo so having someone head the Department of Education who was a member of the Teachers Union wasn't the right move if the goal was to drain the swamp. I watched SNL the other night and they tried to make her look like an idiot even though she's extremely intelligent; Democrats in general have tried the same thing.
For some members of the Women's Rights Movement to attack Betsy on a personal level once again provides proof that they actually care more about politics than actually supporting a woman who is an extraordinary role model for young ladies.
