I've been watching a pretty good Amazon Original called: Wheel of Time. It's sci-fi and Rosamund Pike is the lead character.
Well, when I reached the sixth episode, I saw something I'm seeing all the time now and I find it disgusting. I turned it off when out of nowhere, I find she's a lesbian and there's a modest sex scene. Don't get me wrong, I'm a dude, so I waited until the scene was over before turning it off; but it's the principal of the thing. 😉
There was no reason for there to be any sex scene whether gay or straight at this point in the show. It was just another opportunity for a network to push an agenda of acceptance. I don't care about an agenda of acceptance; I just want to watch an entertaining television show which makes sense. If it makes sense for there to be a love scene between people in the LGBTQ community because it fits the script, then fine, but it's very clear what these networks are doing.
Obvious attempts to force a social agenda down everyone's throats, when you're in the entertainment business, makes no business sense. Have they not figured out one of the reasons why so many networks are struggling? They are preaching to us non-stop when we already get plenty of preaching, and we look to them for an escape, which we're now not getting from them anymore. They've turned into social justice warriors and that has nothing to do with entertaining. I just don't understand why they don't get it.
My prediction, even though the show is on fire now, if they don't reverse course and stop pushing social agendas, they'll end up cancelled after the second season.
