What is amazing about Randy Newman, is that he's a Hollywood phenom. Motion pictures galore have had him score movies for them and this includes Awakenings, The Natural, Pleasantville, Meet the Parents, and Seabiscuit. He's scored nine Disney-Pixar including Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc., and Cars.
He's received 22 Academy Award nominations and he has three Emmys and seven Grammy's. In all, he's been nominated for 92 music awards. Disney awarded him their "Legend Award." He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
He was in his senior year of college at UCLA and his music career took off, so he quit. It was on his bucket list so last year he graduated from UCLA at the age of 77. What an amazing man who not many outside of Hollywood, knows anything about. Thus, why I wrote about him because he deserves an amazing legacy.
