A Young Socialist

1/1/2019

I watched an interview of a college student from Amherst College (expensive private school in MA), and he said he wants to become a history professor. He then went on to share his philosophy which included our military and police are oppressors. He stated that we're an imperialist country taking over lands that don't belong to us. I find this very scary and as we know it's the culture many colleges and universities have, and millions of young people are being indoctrinated into it.

First, the fact that he thinks we can survive without a police force is crazy but to think we’re an imperialist nation, is beyond absurd.  We don't go into other countries and steal their land. We don't establish our own government and take their resources away from them and/or tax people living there. Some countries have extended their territories in the past in an empire building fashion, but the U.S. doesn’t operate that way. We don't go to war to take from others; we go to war to protect our allies and protect the security of U.S. citizens. There’s no doubt that a very long time ago we took land from American Indians but there’s a lot to that story that I don’t have time to cover. But I’d say that it’s very clear now, that we aren’t an imperialist nation looking to take from other countries, so I don’t have a clue what this college student was talking about.

Many young people like him hate our country yet they’ve been blessed to live here. All they must do is talk to immigrants who grew up in other countries, to know just how great they have it. Unfortunately, this young man wants to stay here and share his ideology about the history of our country, and liberal institutions are just fine with him re-writing history.
