Democrats are ripping into the Republican's Bill to address school shootings. Why in the world can we not leave it up to the school districts and the schools within them to decide if they want to have volunteer faculty members carry a weapon? It's their right. If a school isn't comfortable with it then they don't need to participate.
Those that do will go through a thorough training program meant specifically for gun safety and protocol for handling a school shooter. Why don't Democrats want to empower the schools who want it? Why aren't they willing to give it a test run and if it doesn't work, then they can repeal the Bill? They aren't willing to give anything, and I mean anything, to help Republicans do what's right for our country...and in this case the protection of young people.
Democrats want to increase the age limit for owning a gun from 18 to 21 which I don't care all that much about, but the fact is either the shooters were younger than 18 and didn't purchase legally in the first place or they were 22 or older which most mass murderers were. There's absolutely NO PROOF statistically that raising the age to 21 would've stopped even one of these horrific crimes.
Democrats know this truth but once again lie to their constituents about it. I wish they understood this fact.
