It disgust me that every time a political fight is underway on the budget that Democrats throw out that if Republicans don’t get on board terrible things will happen (i.e. children won’t be fed, teachers will be fired, inspectors at the FDA will be let go, criminals will be released, White House tours for school children will stop, etc.).
My two major issues with this game they play include why is it the Republicans who need to get on board? Why don’t they get on board? Both parties are guilty of not putting together a balanced budget yet Democrats constantly blame the shutting down of the federal government on the Republicans and it gets old.
The other thing they lie about is they’re constantly mentioning people who will be let go (including criminals), when this isn’t the case. The only people who benefit from the government shutting down are the employees of the Federal Government because they get paid time off from work. A sequester saves no money, it’s just a game the government plays. People don’t lose their jobs (they used to). As citizens we lose no critical support services. When is the last time the government shut down and your life was negatively affected? Mine never has.
I hope next time you hear Democrats screaming about how evil the Republicans are for forcing a Federal Government shutdown that you’ll keep in mind it’s just more lies because if they fail to work together and pass a budget, both parties are at fault.
