Should Prisoners Be Allowed to Vote?

4/26/2019

I watched a video of two liberals, a married couple probably in their 50's, being interviewed about various topics. They were asked if they agreed with people like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, that we should allow prisoners to vote? They said they were. The couple stated that everyone makes mistakes and that they shouldn't be punished by having the Constitutional right to vote, taken away from them.

They were then asked if this is the case, should prisoners and ex-convicts be allowed to carry weapons since the 2nd Amendment is a critical right? They were stumped and then eventually said no. The interviewer then pointed
out that they're picking and choosing Constitutional rights as if it were a buffet. It was easy to see that this sunk in.

The interviewer then asked them if they still thought prisoners should be allowed to vote even if they were murderers, rapists, terrorists, etc.? They thought about it then once again said yes, that it wouldn't be fair to the prisoners to take their voting rights away. The interviewer then followed up with: "If your daughter were raped, would you be okay with the rapists having an opportunity to vote and influence laws?" There was dead silence. They had no answer. They didn't even try because they couldn't allow the words to come out of their mouths that they were wrong and had changed their opinion.

One last thing. Why do these liberal 2020 candidates want prisoners to be able to vote? Because they'd vote Democrat. Prisons could be used as a voting base for calculating districts (meaning more Congressional representation), and electoral votes in presidential elections. What a great group of people to be associated with a political party.

To add further to their votes, they're pushing to lower the voting age to 16. Just how much do these young people know about civics, the Constitution, economics, political science, etc.? They don't have a clue about the impact of taxes on a paycheck. They're naive and easily pursuaded; of course they'll vote for anything that's "free." This is how young people think. The bottom line is that none of us would seek the advice of a 16 year-old on practically anything in our lives, yet these Dems want to give them the power to vote. And who would they vote for, that's right, Democrats. See a trend.
