There's only one reason Democrats are fighting so hard against having a border wall and that is because it was a Trump promise on the campaign trail. The proof of this is that they've never been against a border wall before. They've helped fund building the wall in the past and have allocated funds for maintenance, but their support stopped when Trump got into office except for throwing some chump-change at it last year; around 6% of what Republicans were asking. It’s not just about building new walls it’s about replacing ones, like I’m sure you’ve seen on television, that even you and I could easily scale.
The bottom line as can be easily seen through researching the topic or just watching You Tube with speeches by leaders of the Democrat Party like President Clinton and President Obama, is that Democrats are running from a stance they've taken. They don't want their constituents to know that the verbiage that has been used by leaders of the Democrat Party in the past, including Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer, are almost identical to why Trump says we need a real border wall. When they said it, it wasn’t evil, when Republicans say it, they’re evil. They just know they can take advantage of people who won't bother to check out what they said in the past. They’re intentionally misleading them, yet they’re supposed to be their representatives; we should be livid about these tactics.
To take off heat from what the illegal immigrants are doing, the mainstream media is trying to stoke up the fire on child separations at the border. Nothing has changed in reference to the adjustments that were already made to dealing with families at the border, but they're acting like it's new because they need to direct the narrative away from migrants rushing the border and endangering officers of the law to Trump is out of control and hates Hispanics. Why in the world would Republicans hate Hispanics?
What really disgusts me about what they're doing is that Obama had a separation policy too and the picture of the children in cages that was said to have happened under Trump, ended up being a picture of child separation during the Obama Administration. The media attacked Trump 24/7 over the issue, showing the picture time and time again, but when they found out it happened under Obama’s watch, they stopped the story and didn't even recant what they said about Trump being the one responsible. They can try to run from it all they want, but they are Fake News.
Democrats are saying we can’t afford to fund the wall and that President Trump better not try to pull an end-around to get the money. What about when Obama did an end-around using billions of dollars of taxpayer money to send to Iran? The cash payment was a secret deal. It was a secret shipment of money. Is this not an end-around?
Democrats and the mainstream media would’ve lost their minds if a Republican president cut the same deal that the Obama Administration did with Iran. CNN and MSNBC would’ve run scathing reports non-stop. The New York Times and Washington Post would’ve run article after article bashing the Republican President for the lack of transparency and press conferences by leaders of the Democrat Party would’ve been ceaseless. It’s how they all roll.
So, it’s okay for Obama to take taxpayer money, without us even knowing about it until a picture surfaced of the cash on pallets being sent in the middle of the night, but by God, Trump better not try anything underhanded to get money for border security. This is yet another horrendous double-standard by Democrats and the media. I wish shame was part of their character, so they could make changes, but it’s not.
