We know how hard he’s worked towards border security, so we’ll see how that works out, but I really appreciate how he’s gone after better trade deals than we've had in several decades. We were being taken advantage of and it was embarrassing. If we fixed the deficit with China alone, we'd have $500B back into our economy. I doubt if he’ll get all of it back but making a dent in it would make a tremendous difference and bring in more tax revenues to work towards paying down our debt. Democrats never talked about bad trade deals and Obama didn’t even try to make improvements. I admit it wasn’t just him, as many previous presidents didn’t address trade imbalances either. The NAFTA deal alone, was horrendous. Canada being able to tax our dairy products 40%, is horrendous. Trump has been aggressive at trying to make better deals for our country and I like it.
He’s ruffling a lot of feathers by demanding other countries pay their share of helping address humanitarian issues and security around the world. We weren’t only exposing more of our soldiers to injuries and being killed, we were also spending much more than our fair share. No doubt we’re a larger country than most but allocating the various contributions should be based off each country’s share of their GDP as it's the only fair standard.
Because of Trump’s pursuit of fairness, we’re not as well liked around the world as when Obama was in office, but he was selling Americans out; not intentionally of course. Trump is a nationalist who puts country first. Will he always make the best choices, or handle things correctly, no way, but at least his heart is in the right place. Obama certainly wasn't a nationalist as was clearly demonstrated even before he became President. He sat in a church for twenty years that included negative sermons about our country and white people. If he didn’t like it, he could’ve left. If he didn’t support such talk, he wouldn’t have openly said the Reverend Jerimiah Wright was his mentor; that was before he denounced him when he ran for President.
Trump delivered tax cuts which increased consumer spending and took our Gross Domestic Product (GDP), from around 1% in Obama's last year in office to over 4% at one point. It’s an amazing feat that the mainstream media buried. If more people understood what GDP means to taxpayers, Trump and the Republican legislators would be heralded.
By the way, GDP is one of the variables that can affect the stock market, but its impact is strangely limited. If you can find any economist who has a scientific explanation that will predict whether the stock market is going to go up or down, then he or she is lying. Do you know why at the end of trading, whether the market goes up or down, that people are clapping on the trade floor? It's because if it's a day with a lot of transactions, these financial institutions make money. They never want the market to be so bad that people move out of stocks and place their investments in bonds or in money market accounts (Bear Market), but if they can keep hope alive in trading stocks, they’ll continue to get rich.
The reason I mentioned GDP and the stock market is because the mainstream media tries to tie Trump’s economic success to the market when it goes down. The rascals say little to nothing about it when it goes up. The fact is, if you really want to know how we’re doing, look at our GDP, job growth, unemployment rates and deficit trends. The stock market is an unexplainable roller coaster ride so it’s not a dependable economic indicator. The problem is that in the usual Trump fashion, he was taking credit for it when it was skyrocketing so quite frankly he does deserve some of the attack when the market goes down.
Trump was elected for several reasons: 1) People hated Hillary. 2) People have become sick and tired of politicians. Draining the swamp was a huge theme on his campaign trail. 3) All the things I mentioned above about Trump’s agenda, weren't even discussed in the Democrat Party. They’re issues that most Americans were interested in, but the Democrat Party, thus Hillary Clinton, stayed away from these important topics and focused on identity politics and social issues which wasn’t a winning strategy.
Liberals want people to think she lost because of Russian collusion but the points listed above clearly indicate why she’s not in office. The number of ads run by Russia had a fraction of a fraction of a percent impact on the election compared to how the mainstream media tried to influence it on Hillary’s behalf. Platforms like Face Book attempted to remove conservative dialogue and influence the election. Celebrities used their large influence on their fans and even this wasn't enough.
The bottom line is don't let the media be The Great Oz, hiding behind a curtain creating a false reality. You don't have to like Trump; if you believe in his agenda, then fight for it through calls and emails to your legislators. Democrats and the mainstream media want us to focus on Trump’s character as a way of stopping a conservative agenda. If our country becomes dominated by Democrat/Socialism, it would dishonor the sacrifices made by past generations. Let’s not do this.
