Coach John Wooden (UCLA), is the greatest college basketball coach of all time. After winning one of ten national championships the team started the next season as they always did with a game between the incoming freshman players who at the time weren't allowed to play varsity, and the varsity team. Fans would see the game to check out the new recruits.
This particular year the freshmen team shockingly beat the varsity team and it was due to one new player who blew everyone's minds. He would position himself underneath the basket and his teammates would throw him the ball and he'd jump up a little and dunk it. This player would lead them to three NCAA Championships in row. His name (drumbeat)....Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. To make things more competitive the NCAA suspended dunking for around eight years. It didn't stop UCLA from winning though.
