The thing is, a place is only as good as the people you know in it. In other words, living in a cool place like San Diego won't mean as much if it doesn't include the many great people you know from family, friends, and co-workers from where you live now. Sure, they aren’t all perfect and I’m sure there are some you’d like to get away from, but it will be at the expense of the good relationships you have going. I don’t care who you are and how good of intentions you have, if you move away from a great friend it will never be the same. Absence doesn’t make the heart grow fonder. It’s basic logic, if you’re not growing together, you’re growing apart.
I’m not saying that a change of scenery isn’t bad from time to time but what I am saying is if you’re running off someplace thinking the location will make you happier then you need to know the whole truth and that is it’s not the place so much as it is the people.
