The I.G. Report

7/1/2018

A new report just came out by the Inspector General which makes many statements including faulting then-FBI Director James Comey for being “insubordinate” and other senior FBI agents for sending anti-Trump text messages even though they oversaw both the Russian Collusion and Hillary Email investigations.

One of the text reviewed was from the FBI agent in charge of the Russian collusion investigation and part of the Hillary email investigation, and he stated explicably in a text that he and others would make sure Trump wasn’t elected. Please let this sink in. The very person in charge of the investigation said he’d help take Trump down. How in the world can we trust anything they found? Just how diligent would they have been regarding investigating Clinton? As we saw, they weren’t.

They found that although Comey said there might have been classified information stolen from Clinton’s email server that he did in fact know it took place. Why didn’t he say anything? Why wasn’t Hillary charged when people who have exposed national security have gone to prison? Comey said it was because she didn’t know what she was doing. I’d say that setting up your own personal email server has nothing but nefarious written all over it. She had things she wanted to hide…it’s that simple.

The report also stated in so many words, that Comey went completely off the rails in following FBI protocol when it came to investigating Hillary Clinton. For example, they would have taken the server and not allowed the Clinton team to clean it up but in this case, they acted more like they were legal representatives of Clinton and not the FBI. Remember when they raided Trump’s attorney’s office and home? They did this to him because it was FBI protocol, but it wasn’t followed when it came to Clinton.

The I.G.’s investigation looked at a variety of allegations, including whether it was improper for Comey to make a public announcement about not recommending prosecution over the Clinton email arrangement. "We found that it was extraordinary and insubordinate for Comey to conceal his intentions from his superiors, the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General, for the admitted purpose of preventing them from telling him not to make the statement, and to instruct his subordinates in the FBI to do the same.” In other words, Comey was afraid they wouldn’t let her off the hook, so he moved forward as soon as he could to publicly announce they wouldn’t prosecute even though in reality there were plenty of reasons to prosecute.

The bottom line is they found pretty much what was expected by those on the right side of the aisle. The higher-ups at the FBI looked after Clinton and proactively set out to take Trump down. I find this shocking that it would happen at such a prestigious agency. I try to keep in mind that it was isolated and that 99% of the FBI had nothing to do with this scandalous conduct.
