The first guitar of six strings was invented in 1779 by Gaetano Vinaccia in Naples, Italy.
The flute is derived from a combination of different early wind instruments. There were wooden flutes and even flutes made from bone prior to the creation of the flute as we know it today. This modern-day flute was invented in 1847 by Theobald Boehm.
