It's been many years so maybe you've forgotten that in 1989 Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker), was convicted of 13 counts of murder, 5 attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults, and 14 burglaries in southern California. The amazing part is that when the police figured out who was committing the crimes, a large picture of him was on the front page of The Los Angeles Times, and citizens in a Hispanic community spotted him and chased him down. They were beating on him when the police arrived. One of the attackers had a metal bar so Ramirez had some huge head wounds. A little vigilante justice. He died from cancer on June 7, 2013 after 23 years on death row. He was 53 years old at the time.
