The Federal Government offers a crazy grant (our tax dollars), and California gets a whole lot of money from it. This is direct verbiage from the grant:
"The preparedness grant programs totaling more than $1.6 billion. The grant programs provide funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as transportation authorities, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector, to improve the nation’s readiness in preventing, protecting against, responding to, recovering from and mitigating terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies. The grants reflect the Department’s focus on implementation of an all-of-nation, whole-community approach to the building, sustainment, and delivery of those core capabilities essential to achieving a secure and resilient nation."
If you can understand the above, then you're intellectually advanced because it's outrageous. Their confusing verbiage is intentional. I pulled back enough layers to know that it means that practically any organization with political clout, and high-powered attorneys, can get millions of dollars. In California's case, I found that they received $124 million last year. Our tax dollars are going to a liberal state that can’t manage their money and that votes against at my conservative values again and again; this isn’t right. This is why crazy politicians like Boxer, Pelosi, Waters, etc., remained in power for decades because they take money from other parts of the country and channel it to their districts.
There's a whole other world out there where money grabbing, our money, is an industry and you and I aren't receiving any of it. Our federal tax dollars are wasted again and again, and Democrats aren’t willing to spend money on a border wall to better protect U.S. citizens. I find this disgusting.
