I think it’s time to stop describing the purveyors of fake news as the “mainstream media.” They are no longer mainstream, as evidenced by the essentially unanimous opinion by the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC and the like that it was a terrible speech.
In fact, a CBS poll this morning showed that 76% of viewers approved of President Trump’s address, including 82% of Independents. Only 30% of Democrats approved, although that’s more than I’d expect. And 56% of viewers polled think that Trump's Address will do more to unite Americans than divide them. These are foreboding numbers for the Democrat Party.
The bottom line is that although viewers of media networks and readers of other liberal media outlets have pushed extremely hard at creating a narrative that Trump's speech was horrendous, it's not permeating throughout the masses. It's this type of attempt at pushing a liberal narrative that negatively impacts their reputation and gives them the title: fake news. I truly hope they turn it around because we need a news media we can trust.
