Men are on average faster and stronger than women; it’s a biological fact. Even though males go through various hormonal changes when transitioning, they still end up faster and stronger than most women. A male athlete who transitions to be a woman has an advantage in making the Olympics and competing in them whereas it’s just the opposite for a woman transitioning to become a man because in the end he wouldn’t have the physical attributes to compete at an elevated level in most competitive sports.
Some people in the LGBTQ community are so bent on equality that they fail to recognize that they're not being fair to some members of their organization who are lesbian and compete in the Olympics. They don’t have the advantage of having once had the physical attributes of being male.
I've mentioned this before, but I promise you that if a man transitioned to be a woman and was allowed to play in the WNBA, she would be a superstar. All the other players on her team would have to do is throw the ball to her underneath the basket and she’d easily jump up and slam dunk the ball. Why, because she’d still have some male cells. She would have a biological advantage to compete which wouldn't be fair to female athletes who have made it to the top based on an equal playing field. There’s no doubt there are many lesbian athletes in the WNBA, I just don’t understand why the LGBT doesn’t support them.
The Olympic Committee is going to do what they want but I feel sorry for the women who have earned their way to the Olympics based on the biology they were born with. If I were running the Olympics, I’d use doctors to clear the athletes whether through bloodwork or a quick sight check. It’s easy, if someone has male genitals then he can’t compete in female events and vice-versa.
If there’s any time that deserves extreme due diligence in ensuring a competitive playing field, it’s the Olympics. And let’s face it, the Olympic Committee has dropped the ball many times. There’s been judging scandals in boxing, gymnastics, ice skating. They were tentative about addressing steroid use by countries like China, East Germany, Russia, etc. If it weren’t for other countries demanding the Committee do their jobs, it’s likely nothing would’ve happened since some people were being paid off which was discovered later.
The thing is, most Olympic athletes barely make a living. Most of them train for four years to get one shot at winning a medal. Can you imagine going through four years of training only to find out someone else made the team because she was genetically enhanced physically? It just doesn’t seem fair, and seems to defeat the purpose, that someone can be punished because she was born with female organs.
