Cobb set 90 MLB records during his career. His combined total of 4,065 runs scored and runs batted in, is still the highest ever produced by any major league player. He still holds several records including the highest career batting average of .366. He still has the most steals of any player in MLB history. He was known for getting on first and then stealing each base one by one and then scoring a run. He's still the youngest player ever to compile 4,000 hits and score 2,000 runs. Now on the flip side, he did have some defensive issues as he committed more errors playing outfield (mostly dropping flyballs), than any other player in history.
Ty was an extraordinary athlete, a natural athlete, so he was good at most things physical, including fighting. As a superstar young athlete, he was picked on by the older players of which some of them found out that it wasn't a good move as they lit a dangerous flame in Ty. He became a mean player. Everyone knew, including players from other teams, not to mess with him. If a pitcher accidentally hit him with a pitch, the safest thing for him to do was to ask God to stop Ty from charging the mound. The bottom line is that as a player, fans and teammates loved him, as a person, not so much.
Ty made a lot of money as a baseball player but even more as a businessman. He also made tens of millions of dollars on Coca Cola's and General Motors' stock. He softened as he got older and became very generous with his money through helping numerous charities and even building a hospital. He regretted a lot of his actions and wish he had the chance to do it all over again. Certainly not a perfect man, but in my opinion, the best ever when it comes to baseball.
